Hi there. I've got a benq mp721 which i've just changed the lamp on. the problem is: how do i reset the lamp timer?

From the manual:
To enter the password recall procedure:
Press and hold Right (arrow)
for 5 seconds. The projector will display a coded number on the screen. Seek help from the local BenQ service center to decode the number. You may be required to provide proof of purchase documentation to verify that you are an authorized
user of the projector.

I also had this problem but was able to get to the menu before it turned itself off..... Instructions in the manuel on how to reset the timer.

15. Resetting the lamp counter

Do not reset if the lamp is not replaced as this could cause

damage.

i. Press and hold the Exit 5 button on the

projector for 5 seconds to display the total used

lamp time.

ii. Press Auto on the projector or on the remote

control to reset the lamp hour to "0".
iii. Wait about 5 seconds to let the OSD disappear.

Check in your instruction Manual about pressing a button sequence while starting up. Some projectors do not actually know when you have changed the lamp, so you have to reset the lamp timer by pressing a button sequence. Often a genuine replacement lamp will have an instruction set which comes with the new lamp ( If you still have it !! :) You may have replaced the lamp but not reset the counter and it has shutdown because the counter has reached a critical umber of hours.

Press the Auto button when it says it's going to turn off, then hold Exit, then when it tells you, press Auto again - worked for me literally 5 mins ago :)

You will have to reset the lamp timer as follows :

Hold down the up arrow key on your projector for a couple of seconds - projector must be switched on.
You'll see a on screen message appear in one of the top corners on the image....then just follow the two basic steps as requested on screen.....your lamp timer will now be reset.

Then shut down the projector and restart for changes to take effect.

Very easy - just do the following :

Switch you Projector on , then hold down theUp Arrow key on your Projector , you will then see a on screen display appear in one of the top corners - just follow the 2 on screen steps and you lamp timer will be reset.

Hello, does any1 know how to reset the lamp timer on a LG RD-JT31? I want to get rid of the Replace The Lamp sign.

Replace the lamp and reset the lamp timer.

Lamp timer can be reset by holding down the up arrow key and then following the easy on-screen instructions.
