Canon IR 2520 Copier showing Paper jam when powering

If your Canon IR 2520 copier is showing a "paper jam" error message when powering on, but there is no paper in the fuser, it could be caused by a few different things:
  1. A sensor problem: The copier may have a malfunctioning sensor that incorrectly detects a paper jam in the fuser. This sensor might need to be cleaned or replaced.
  2. Wiring issue: There may be a problem with the wiring that connects the sensor to the main circuit board. A broken wire or loose connection could be causing the sensor to malfunction.
  3. Software issue: The copier's software may have a bug causing it to display the "paper jam" error message even when there is no paper in the fuser.
  4. Mechanical problem: The fuser assembly may have a mechanical issue, such as a jammed gear or roller preventing the copier from correctly sensing that there is no paper in the fuser.
It is best to have a professional technician diagnose the issue. They will be able to identify the specific cause of the problem and make the necessary repairs.
It's also important to check the owner's manual for troubleshooting options or error codes that might be displayed on the copier.
If the copier is still under warranty, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer for service.

Canon ir2520 jamming in the exit tray

If your Canon IR2520 is jamming in the exit tray after initializing the machine, it could be caused by a few different issues:
  • Paper tray: Make sure that the paper tray is loaded correctly and that the paper is not jammed or loaded incorrectly. Also, check if the paper tray is not overfilled or if the paper is not wrinkled.
  • Pick-up roller: The pick-up roller is responsible for picking up paper from the tray and feed it to the printer. Check if it is dirty or worn out.
  • Exit guide: The exit guide is responsible for directing the paper out of the machine. Make sure that it is not blocked or bent, which could cause the paper to jam.
  • Fuser: The fuser unit could be malfunctioning. The fuser is responsible for heating and fusing the toner to the paper. If it is not working properly, it could cause paper jams.
  • Feed rollers: The feed rollers are responsible for feeding the paper through the printer. Check if they are dirty or worn out.
  • Paper jam sensor: The paper jam sensor may be malfunctioning. If the sensor is not working correctly, it may not detect a jam and the printer will continue to try to feed paper through.
  • It is recommended to check the copier's manual or consult with the manufacturer's technical support to troubleshoot the problem. They may provide more specific instructions for your specific model and can guide you through the process of finding and fixing the problem.
These are general suggestions and your specific case may require different actions.

Copier making loud noise

Remove the drum/toner unit and close the top,...does it still make the noise? If so, there is a paper jam in the fuser section (left side)
I also have a Canon PC900 series copier....mine does not have the automatic document feeder, however the machine is the same....If the noise persists, you will probably need to replace the Fixing (fuser) Unit drive gears (worst case senerio) perhaps you can locate the jam in the fuser and "carefully" remove without damaging the Fixing Belt....good luck
