hi

380 Mitsubishi's have a electric window regulator problem

front and back regulators are notorious for breaking and failing.

some times the cables also come off or the plastic components attached to the cables break

the motor turns a plastic wheel that winds the cables back and forward and this wheel jams or the cables come off the guides.

anyway the short answer is to change the whole regulator with a secondhand or a new one depending on your budget

There is a new service bulletin for a thicker run channel for the drivers side. I got mine fixed yesterday. Its better though not 100%. Definitely bring to dealer and have them do it. Techline at Kia knows about it.

Yes it can but it takes a trained technician to ID what exactly is the source of the noise as well as special equipment.

There is a plastic stay clip that attaches to that hole that guides the window in the track

Hi there,

If manual window winder

Your driver's window glass may have come off the regulator mechanism.

If electric window control

The glass may have detached from the regulator or the regulator cable has unwound itself off the mechanism (ie tension during upward motion, but loose when motor stops winding).

Your driver's door panel will need to be removed to inspect your window regulator operation.

In the process of changing the drivers side window motor the cable spool came out and the cable unwound. How do you wind it so it fits back in the plastic housing? The window is stuck in the down position....

this may be what you dont want to hear but they normally dont unravel and if you do fix it , it not likely to last very long. normally we replace the window regulator assembly sorry, some are around 150 and some as high as 250 $$$

Sounds like it's the power window motor going out.

Window switch for driver control and passenger switch window

sounds like you have a passenger window motor problem. Try hitting the right door panel hard, down near the speaker opening and pushing the switch at the same time. If it moves, the motor windings are and needs to be replaced.

The power window on my truck will come down, but won't go back up. The motor seems to be working fine. I need a diagram of all the parts so I can determine which parts need to be repaired or replaced....

The power window regulator and motor come as am assembly. Usually the cable snaps and the window drops down and won't come back up. About a $400 repair.

Remove the front window regulator.
- Loosen the two hanger bolts.
- Remove the front window regulator bolts and front top run channel bolt.

Best to buy this as an assembly. remove the drivers door panel behind the door is the window motor and regulator assembly. unbolt the regulator from the glass and remove the glass or prop the glass in the up position unbolt the motor and remove the assembly from the door and reinstall the assembly be carefull to position the nuts for the glass and make sure the pads that protect the glass are in place dont over tighten the nuts on the glass part or you will explode the glass
