My coffee maker, and Automatic Grind and Brew, will only brew about 2 cups and then stop. You have to keep hitting the do not grnd and then the "on" button at least 5 times to get a full pot of coffee. What can I do to get a full pot on the first run through?

This did not work. I pressed the 1 - 4 cup button numerous times and it still does not run the entire water reservoir for the pot to be full.

Hi and welcome to fixya,

you will have to disable the 1-4cup setting by pressing it repeatedly to enable the default setting for 10 cups. This will automatically grind and brew for a 10 cup full pot coffee.

Summary: the 1-4 cup button should not be lit.

Hope this helps

How to brew coffee

USING YOUR PERCOLATOR
1.Wash the Percolator thoroughly before using for the first time.
(See "Cleaning Instructions" section in this manual.)

2.Remove Cover, Basket, Spreader and Pump Tube. Use cold, fresh
tap water to fill Percolator. Fill according to markings on inside
of Percolator for number of cups desired. Use cold tap water -
the automatic brewing cycle is timed to begin with a cold
water start.
NOTE: The bottom of the Pump Tube Spring marks the maximum
capacity of the Percolator.

3.Wet Coffee Basket to help keep small particles of coffee from sift-
ing through. Place Basket on Pump Tube. Add desired amount of
regular or percolator grind coffee to Basket.

4.Place Pump Tube with Basket into Percolator so bottom of tube is
set into Center Well. Place Spreader on top of Basket and snap
Cover onto Percolator. Attach cord to Percolator and plug into
standard household 120 volt AC wall outlet. Brewing begins
within seconds and continues at a cup-a-minute speed

5.When coffee brewing is complete, percolating will stop. The
Percolator automatically switches to "KEEP WARM" setting to
preserve fresh-tasting coffee at hot, ready-to-serve temperature.
For best flavor, remove Coffee Basket, Spreader and Pump Tube
when brewing is completed.

This coffee maker (10 c maker with grinder) beeps it's done every few minutes with water left. we have to brew about 5 times for a full pot, what gives?

Presume this is the Grind & Brew Thermal™ 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker, Model # DGB-600BCC

An instruction booklet is available here: http://www.cuisinart.ca/pdf/ibs/en/DGB-600BCC_en.pdf

Review the sections beginning on page 11 of the pdf on Turning Off the Grind Function (if not using the grind feature) and Making Coffee.

Make sure you are turning off the grind function if using preground coffee and that the reservoir lid is securely closed.

Check the Cups Setting button; is sounds like the 1-4 feature may be turned on.

Coffee is too weak

Hi there,
I just spoke to someone at customer service. My coffee has been weak and kind of thin. We had the Superautomatica by Saceo for years and I remembered the coffee being richer.
Anyway! The person suggested that I adjust the grind but slowly. So set it to the coarsest setting, brew 2-3 cups. Then put it to the 2nd-coarsest setting, brew 2-3 cups. To the third, brew 2-3 cups. To the forth, brew 2-3 cups. Etc. Until you're at the finest grind setting. Again, brew 2-3 cups. An awfully sensitive machine. It seems to have worked although the last few seconds of brewing continue to be a kind of milky colour (as opposed to a deep black coffee colour). You can, though, press the "cup" button to stop the brew. So once, it starts running milky, you can stop the cycle.
I hope this helps. I know I've been struggling and cursing the machine for a while :)

My grind and brew turns itself off in the middle of brew cycle

Coffee overflowing onto the counter is a common complaint found in response to many automatic drip coffee makers. The following are potential solutions that can be used to rule out "operator error" vs. a defect or malfunction:

1. Do not "pack" or otherwise overfill the cone/basket with grinds.
2. If self-grinding your coffee beans, ensure you are using the correct grind setting for an automatic drip coffee maker. (See instruction manual for coffee maker and/or grinder.)
3. Do not overfill tank with water. Use the marks on the side of the reservoir as a guide rather than those defined by another measuring method. This is because a "cup" in a coffee carafe is defined as 6 oz, not 8 oz, and in some cases as little as 5 oz as a cup. As such, a 12-cup machine actually produces closer to 9 standard 8 oz cups. (See your owner's manual.)
4. Make certain the filter cone/basket clicks into place and that the carafe is centered and pushed all the way in.
5. Try a permanent filter rather than a paper filter or vice versa.
6. Only use the correct permanent or paper filter (see manual).
7. Verify that the Pause 'n Serve button isn't sticking. If it is activated too long the brew will escape over the top of the cone/basket. This may be more apt to happen if the alignment of the carafe and the basket is incorrect.
8. It is extremely important to clean your machine with vinegar or as instructed by your owner's manual at least three times per year, more if your water supply is hard (prone to leaving water rings). A properly cleaned machine is less likely to suffer a burned out heating element, to take too long to brew a pot of coffee, to produce "off" tasting coffee, or to clog and overrun the filter basket.
9. Ensure that the coffee machine is sitting level on the counter.

I have a automatic grind and brew. It will only brew a full pot of coffee if I turn it on four cups. That wasn't to bad but now Ihave to unplug it to get it to come on.

Unplug for 20 minutes to fully reset, then:
Cuisinart Coffeemaker Decalcification Process

Run 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water through the system - brew it like it was regular coffee. Then run plain water through the coffemaker to rinse the vinegar out and make sure the decalcification was successful. Repeat as needed. Don't forget to remove the charcoal water filters first.
