GuestGate MKII GR-425N09C0600446 I made a configuration change to the guest network and when I saved and rebooted I can no longer access the Internet or the device when connected directly to the Host port. When I try to factory reset the device othing happens. I tried connecting using DHCP on the host port and also tried accessing using 192.168.2.1. My question is why will device not factory reset?

Yes I have tried that. I have also tried holding the button for various lengths of time from 5 seconds up to a minute. The 2 page manual says hold the button for 10 seconds though. The device doesn't even restart after pushing the reset button.

  • Anonymous Jan 19, 2011

I unplugged it again and this time when I restarted I was holding the reset button. I held it until the power light went off and then I released it. When it finished booting it obtained a new IP address from DHCP.

Want to get my Cisco guest password

Open Cisco Connect then click Guest access. The password is displayed under the Password header.

To go to the Guest access option using Cisco Connect, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Select Guest access at the main screen of Cisco Connect

In the Guests access settings window, you can enable or disable the Allow guest access, change and check the password for the guest network, or change the number of Total guests allowed.

NOTE: The Guest network name is the main network's SSID with -guest as a suffix. If you want to change the guest network's name, you will need to change the main network's SSID.

How can I remove my neighbor from my network

Easiest thing to do, Change the password to your router. Once this is done, it will prevent your neighbor from any further access to your router and of course prevent internet access. Most all routers are simply a local web address for access. Example: 192.168.1.1 typed inside a browser address pane will take you inside the router. Check your router for setup procedures.

Have a great night..

How do I secure my Dynamode BR 6004 WG1 Iam a

To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, you need to at least configure the wireless router with encryption, and the SSID, and change the router's default login password.
Please follow these instructions :-

To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router’s wireless settings configured and also needs the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers to be configured with the router’s wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.

To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA). The encryption key can be easily set up using a passphrase (it can be an alpha numeric phrase or words).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.
To access the Internet you need to connect the DSL or cable modem to the WAN (Internet) port on the wireless router.

I cannot creat a wireless network

What OS are you running? If XP:

There are two ways to configure your wireless router: using Windows Connect Now and manually.

• If you don't have a router that supports Windows Connect Now, you need to manually configure your router:
1.
Using the network cable that came with your wireless router, temporarily connect your computer to one of the wired network ports on your wireless router (any port that isnt labeled Internet, WAN, or WLAN).
2.
Turn your computer on; it will automatically connect to your router.
3.
Open Microsoft Internet Explorer and type in the address to configure your router, as described in your router's instruction manual.
4.
Create a password if a prompt appears. The address and password you use will vary depending on what type of router you have, so refer to the instructions included with your router.

Here is the general login user and passwords

Internet Explorer will show your router's configuration page. Most of the default settings should be fine, but you should configure three items:
Set your wireless network name (known as the SSID) to something unique that does not identify your name or address.
Enable Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) encryption to help prevent uninvited guests from connecting to your wireless network.
Note: We don't recommend using WEP. WPA-2 is more secure. If you try WPA-2 and it doesn’t work, we recommend that you upgrade your network adapter to one that works with WPA-2.
Set your administrative password to prevent others from configuring your router.
The exact steps you follow will vary depending on the type of router you have. After each configuration setting (SSID, WEP, and administrative password), be sure you click Save Settings, Apply, or OK to save your changes.
Note: The pictures in this section show Linksys wireless equipment. Equipment from other manufacturers will vary in appearance. For example, to save your settings in Linksys, you click Save Settings. Other equipment may have a different display, and you may have to click Apply or OK.
SSID or naming your networkA service set identifier, or SSID, identifies your network. Choose a unique name that you're confident none of your neighbors will use, but don't specify your name or your address. This is not a security tool, so you don't need to make the SSID complex.

Help prevent uninvited guests from connecting to your wireless network. To learn how, read Implement WPA2-Personal wireless security on a Windows XP SP2-based computer.

Administrative passwordThe last configuration change you should make is to the administrative password. Just like any other password, the administrative password should not be a word you can find in the dictionary, and it should be a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols. Be sure you can remember this password, because you'll need it if you ever have to change your router's settings.

Connect your computers and devicesIf your computer does not have wireless network support built in, you can install a wired or a wireless network adapter. Windows XP will automatically detect the new adapter and might prompt you to insert the CD that came with it. The on-screen instructions will guide you through the configuration process.
Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) is not required for wireless networking, but it does make setting one up much easier. SP2 also helps protect you against viruses, worms, and other Internet intruders. To install SP2, visit Microsoft Update. The steps below apply only if you're using SP2. Windows XP will show an icon with a notification that says it has found wireless networks.

To connect your computer to your wireless network
1.
Right-click the wireless network icon in the lower right corner of your screen, and then click View Available Wireless Networks

2.
The Wireless Network Connection window appears and displays your wireless network listed with the SSID you chose. If you don't see your network, click Refresh network list in the upper left corner. Click your network, and then click Connect in the lower right corner.

3. Windows XP prompts you to enter a key. Type the encryption key that you wrote down earlier in both the Network key and Confirm network key boxes, and then click Connect.

Windows XP will show its progress as it connects to your network. If the Wireless Network Connection window continues to show Acquiring Network Address, you may have mistyped the encryption key—click Cancel and return to step 3.

After you're connected, you can close the Wireless Network Connection window. Now you're ready to browse the Web wirelessly. You can also create a wireless network in your home that connects your computers, printers, cameras, games, and other accessories for easy access and enjoyment.

Networking the intellinet 503181

Hello,
There are a couple things to check. Make certain that you have port forwarding enabled for port 80/80 to the IP address of the camera. Make certain that you have port forward for port 8080/0 to the IP address of the camera. Find your IP address for your Internet connection - you can go to ipchicken.com and it will display your IP address for you. Then open your browser, type in your Internet IP address on the address line and hit enter. That should bring up the guest log in window and you can log in to view the video stream. If you want to log in to the camera console to change configurations, just type the camera user name and password instead of the guest user name and log in.
Hope this helps!

Macintoshes and the RP614 Router Gateway

You need a Macintosh computer running MacOS 8.6, 9.x, or 10.x. (Netgear products are not supported for versions of MacOS before 8.6.) You can use the RP614 with an eMac, iBook, iMac, PowerBook, PowerMac, or PowerPC as long as they are running one of these versions of MacOS. You also need a few Ethernet cables to make the connections between the router to your modem for internet connection and from the router to your computers or peripherals. Topic 2. How do I prevent my Network configuration from being lost when I restart my computer? When making configuration changes for MacOS it is best to use Configurations (MacOS 8.x or 9. x) or Network Location (MacOS 10. x) settings instead of just changing settings for each category (TCP/IP, AppleTalk, AirPort, etc.). If you just make changes to your settings, they may be lost when you restart your computer unless you have saved them in a Configuration or Network Location. To create a Configuration in MacOS 8.x or 9.x: 1. Open AppleTalk (or TCP/IP) from the Apple Menu in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. 2. From the pull-down File menu select the Configurations option. 3. Choose New Configuration. 4. Type in a name for your new configuration (Netgear Router). 5. Make your changes to the AppleTalk (or TCP/IP) settings. 6. When you close AppleTalk (or TCP/IP) choose Save Changes. Whenever you make Configuration changes for settings in MacOS 8.x or 9.x, open Configurations from the File menu or by pressing Command-K. Saving your changes in Configurations means that they will not be lost when you reboot your computer. To create a Network Location in MacOS 10.x: 1. Open the Apple Menu by clicking on the Apple icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. 2. Select System Preferences. The System Preferences window displays. 3. From the System Preferences window click Network under Internet & Network. The Network settings window displays. 4. Click the Lock icon (if necessary) in the lower left-hand corner of the window to unlock the Network window so you can make changes. (You may be asked to type in your User Name and Password.) 5. Click the pull-down menu next to Location at the top of the Network window. 6. Select the New Location option. 7. Type in a name for your new Location and click OK. 8. Make your changes to the TCP/IP, AppleTalk, and AirPort settings. 9. Click the Lock icon in the lower left-hand corner to prevent further changes. The Apply configuration changes? Window displays. 10. Click Apply to apply the configuration changes for the newly-created Location. 11. Close the Network window. Topic 3. How do I connect a Macintosh to the RP614 Router Gateway? MacOS 8.6, 9.x, and 10.x 1. Set up your system for installation. 2. First make sure your ISP connection is working. Try testing your computer with the ISP directly to make sure you can successfully make a connection to the internet. 3. Connect your DSL or cable modem to the Netgear Router. 4. Log on as Administrator (if required for your system to make configuration changes). 5. Quit all other applications. It's best when configuring MacOS 8.6 and 9.x to use the Configurations settings for AppleTalk and TCP/IP because they should then retain their settings when you reboot. (Use Network Locations to save your settings changes in Mac OS 10.x.) If you just change the settings but don't use a Configuration or Network Location to save your settings changes, you may lose those changes when you restart your computer.
