SOURCE: auto idle on a reddy rgh11000 ie will not idle down
This sounds like the idle control solenoid has become misadjusted. To check that this is the case, locate the throttle lever and follow it back towards the governor arm until you find the solenoid. Start the generator and switch on the idle control while watching the governor arm where it passes near the solenoid, if the arm snaps back and forth you probably have a bad adjustment. To readjust the solenoid loosen the jam nut on the core of the solenoid just enough that you can turn the core by the square bit on the end. Adjust the core 1/4 turn or so at a time until the governor arm stays in position when the idle control is on, then turn idle control off and make sure that the governor arm goes back to the full throttle position. You may have to fiddle with the adjustment a little until you find the right spot. Tighten the jam nut back down and you're good to go.

A couple of questions come to mind. 1. Has this always happen or is this just recent? If its always happen you might be running the a/c on a breaker not strong enough. On the a/c unit on the back there should be a metal plate with the Volts, Amps required to run the unit. Make sure the breaker is rated higher then whats required. If that all checks out you could very well have a malfunctioning breaker. Its a cheap fix to try to replace. If that doesnt work then one can only assume the a/c unit or your generator is malfuntioning.

it could be the connectors need to be changed, when you open the front of the gen you will see a shaft with wires attached to it in both sides a small charcoal like peaces attached with a small wires each these connectors see if the are touching the shaft or not and how long they are if they not or too short that mean you need to replace them and you can get them from any please by looking at the manual and get the number for them and do search on the net or local store...However did you first reset all your brakes? let me know if that work and please remember to rate my service so I am able to continue provide quality service and improve on it with your help. God bless

Hi,
Somewhere in the wiring you have a "hot" wire touching a ground wire... that is what is shorting out and tripping the breaker...
Finding the problem may mean that you will have to take everything aprt and recheck everything then with wn OHM meter...
You could check it first with the OHM meter also...
That may tell you if the problem is in the cord or the box...(generator interlock)
Double check also that you have the right wires to the correct prongs of the plug and/or outlet....
Is the plug for your generator a three prong or a four prong plug???
You may have to jumper the nuetral and the ground if you have a four prong plug and a three wire cord...
Bottm line is that you are shorting out and that is causing the problem...

Has anyone helped you yet? I just answered another question and I see your post was way back 19 Jan of this year. If you have not been helped please respond here and I will see what we can do for you. The sypmtom your describing is almost like your connecting to a main power panel and the utility main CB has NOT been switched off.
Thanks, Kelly
