My HP deskjet F380 is showing E

Since 6 months ago is always showing and E in display. After that I couldn´t use copies only scanner and print, but now appears as disconnected and I cann´t do anything.
I´ve checked the wires and reinstalled the software without any result.

    "E" displayed in no. copy box, orange "ink" warning light flashing, nothing working, have replaced cartridges, still off line, just about to give up!

Try this :-
Resetting the All-in-One

  • Press the On (my HP deskjet F380 is showing E - fa37665.gif) button to turn off the unit.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the unit.
  • Connect the power cord to the back of the unit.
  • Press the On (a477fdf.gif) button to turn on the unit.

My hp deskjet f2280 printer does not photocopy. It displays an "E" error message, always.
I have got exactly the same problem. E shown. F2280 does not copy. Otherwise it prints and scan request from PC working.
I do hope, somebody reads the question, understands what is said and has a solution. Thanks in advance. AOS

I had this problem. My HP F380 also stopped accepting professionally filled cartridges too. The only solution was to start buying HP cartridges. Thankfully these are much cheaper on eBay than buying at the RRP in shops or elsewhere online.

My hp dekjet F380 all-in-one
Do not place any paper on the scanner and open the lid and press scan button and check if the light glows and moves forward and backward. If the light does not glow its a problem with scanner light.

Also try to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers.
