Hi, You must have CD installation to reinstall the OS. Turn on your laptop, connect external CD/DVD ROM to USB. Insert the OS CD then follow the steps on your screen to complete the process. You will prompted to repair the OS during process , follow the instructions to repair OS.

The Acer Aspire One netbook version with Windows XP has a partition on its hard disk drive that is normally hidden that contains the complete installation images for the Operating System, Applications and Drivers. If Windows XP is no longer accessible, restoration can be done using an Alt-F10 to access. The following procedure is edited of the AcerSystem User Guide and is as follows.
The
computer
is restored to its original factory settings without recovery CDs.
This recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software content that is installed when you purchase your notebook. Follow the steps below to rebuild your C: drive. (Your C: drive will be reformatted and all
data will be erased.) If possible, back up all data files before using this option.
Before performing a restore operation, please check the BIOS settings by activating the BIOS utility - press during the Power On Self Test.
1 Check to see if Acer disk-to-disk recovery is enabled or not.
2 Make sure the D2D Recovery setting in Main is Enabled.
3 Exit the BIOS utility and save changes. The system will reboot.
To start the recovery process:
1 Restart the system.
2 While the Acer logo is showing, press at the same time to enter the recovery process.
3 Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.

NOTE: This is a correction to the above procedure as some parts went missing on its entry.
NOTE: The BIOS utility is entered by pressing F2 as the netbook powers up. From the utility's Main menu, check that the D2D Recovery setting is Enabled. If you had to enable, then be sure to save the change when exiting the utility. The system will reboot and while rebooting and the Acer logo is showing, press Alt and F10 at the same time to enter the recovery process.

How to format a netbook

Install the Restoration Disk into the optical drive, (DVD drive), and when asked perform a Full Installation. (Destructive Installation)

Or install a fresh new genuine copy of Windows, and perform a Full Installation.

(You may need to go into BIOS Setup, and in Boot Options, set the first boot device to CDROM)

Don't have the Restoration Disk? (Or if you are the first owner did you make one?)
Try contacting Acer Support.

(From reading experiences with others, it would seem you would be better off just buying a new-genuine copy of Windows. Easier to obtain )

Remember, formatting in this mode will remove ALL personal data from the netbook.
No personal documents you have created, or downloaded, no programs you have installed or downloaded, no photos, music, videos, nada, will be saved.
The netbook will go back to the way it was Day 1 from the factory.

Acer aspire one mini notebook. NTLDR is missing.. no bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key

If you don't have documents, pictures, etc on the hard drive that you need to backup, try running system recovery by doing the following (not sure if this works on the version with a solid state drive):
1. Turn on the computer
2. Press and hold Alt + F10
3. Click on Restore System to Factory Default
4. Ensure the netbook is plugged into AC power instead of running off the battery and click OK

* This will return your netbook to the condition it was in from the manufacturer.

Acer one netbook screen blank on power up due to graphic driver

Does your laptop get past the startup screen? If not, then I doubt it's the graphics card driver that needs to be installed...I worked on an Acer One netbook a while ago and I found out that the wireless card was the problem. I took it out and the laptop worked fine ever since. I think I've read somewhere that Acer One's have a problem with their wireless cards. Though, it is a pain taking out the wireless card since you have to completely disassemble your laptop.

Cannot reload original software

I am sure that you can order replacement recovery disks from Acer. If that fails, you can load any retail version of Windows XP, and go to this site to download and install all of the appropriate drivers.
