2 Other computers on my home network connect at 30meg, which I just bought. They are both running Vista. This comp is running winxp; was working fine at 20meg, now has this new router and is downloading at 300k, upload 2000k(which is good). Slow to connect to router. Firmware is up to date on the router. Used DrTcp to set MTU, Rwin. No change. computer set to full 100 duplex. Have nvidia nforce ethernet on motherboard. Also have 1394 net adapter.

Why not use a different network-card, since your current network-card does not work on multiple computers ??? Spend $15 to bypass the problem, once and for all.
Are you using the WZC on your WinXP computer of the wireless adapter's software utility? Try to reboot the computer and check on the system tray if you will see the computer icon with a red X, right click it and select view available wireless networks, if it cannot see anything... Go to Start, All Programs and look for anything that pertains to wireless adapters open the utility and refresh the list of wireless networks available.... if you see your wireless network name, select it and hit connect
You should check the possibility to connect to homegroup network. I have Vista home OS and I can use router to connect to internet but I can not connect to other PC runned windows 7, I can see them but without connection. I had found on a forum that Vista home version can not interconnect in homegropu network.
On your mozilla browser try clicking tools, then options, under advance, click network. Under network you would see settings click it. And click auto detection of proxy setting. And click ok right after. This should do
hello, u may have to download the proper drivers plus data manager software from the manufacturers homepage, they have to fit vista!
if there are just ones for winxp or lower win/versions available, either try connecting phone to a winxp/interent-pc and go through driver-install and so on or think about downgrading your system to win-xp professional!
win vista is fine but not as reliable as winxp/pro!
Perhaps you might wanna try checking the IP address of the printer and see if it matches that of the ones that are mapped in each individual computer. There might be many factors in the "strange" events that have occured (PC gremlins, i call it). That should be an initial starting point.
Resetting the router wouldnt help, cause it is the router that issues different dynamic IP addresses (otherwise known as DHPC) to each and eveny node connected to the netwrok as well.
Another important thing to note is HOW these devices are connected to the router. Wirelessly? Wired connection? The fact that you can see the printer via the router means that there is no problem with the router's end, so the problem lies in the intermidiate connection from the computers to the router. Try to work on this angle. Thanks.
get the winXP driver MEMu1.50 (still available), there are no Vista drivers. Run the installation using WinXP emulation in Vista. You must run the installation as if you are in XP, not necessary when using the scanner subsequently. Now the Memorex 48u works on a Dell Dimension, running Windows Vista Home Premium. Hope this helps. I got the scannner for $14 after rebates at Staples years ago, it won't die.
yes it does but what exactly is this it's your comp that's not connecting to your wireless network..so here try these steps...
first click start>click in start search>in that box type in services>it gives you an option of services on the same start menu at the top click on that...
it will take you to a new screen that says services at the top on that screen you need to scroll down at the bottom and look for wlan auto configuration rt click on it and click start if start is greyed out press restart....
close services down..
click start>click connect to form the start menu> and check it gives your network name in there .if it says anything like no network found in range. pls make sure that wireless switch on your laptop is turned on...
if still you're not able to connectr it's a concern with the drivers of wireless adapter on your comp genrally on new comps its quite common get the drivers reinstalled....
