Won't start;

A possibility that the micro switch inside which is actuated when you put the top on......the one you are tooth picking....has become dislodged, or the grooves that the switch hold it in place have broken off. Is there anything rattling inside the mixer which would suggest that a piece of the casing has broken off. If you can disassemble it to this point where you can see the switch and there is damage around that area which makes the switch loose, you could use some hot glue to hold it firmly in place. Let the hot glue set solid before you use it.....especially as the switch completes an electrical circuit and hot glue in its liquid form s conductive! Always remember to remove the electrical connection before opening the unit. Failing this, it could possibly be that the switch needs replacing which is a far easier job. Switches are pretty comparable regardless of what brand mixer. Sometimes held in with a screw on opposing corners. So even eBay would probably have one. Good luck. On the bright side, your solution works, but on the dark side, using a plug socket to switch a unit off and on is tricky! Saranden.

I have a new Sunbeam food processor LC6950 and the blender goes well but can't get the food processor to go. It is correctly together. How to switch from one to the other, please

To use the Food Processor just remove the blender and replace it with the Upper safety cover. This will deactivate the blender switch and allow the food processor to function.

make sure bowl and lid are on correctly. If not, it wont run. Both have safety switches where they lock onto the unit. If latch tab is broken, you will need new bowl or lid. If still nothing, switch itself is bad

It doesn't turn on. Could be a switch/electrical problem?

Most likely, the problem is the safety switch at the top, where the lid latches in to, or, the nib on the lid could be broken, chipped or worn away.

The food processor stops working after use. I know there is a reset "hole" to make it start again. I can't see where it is and cannot find it in the manual. Please tell me where it is so I can...

Not all food processor have a reset button, some don't have. You have to be make sure that the unit is in fit, suited because it will on the interlock switch (the safety switch) before it operates normally.
I hope I give you idea regarding your food processor problem.

check to make sure micro switch is engaged, will not turn on because of safety switch . if overloaded the thermal fuse has blown inside the machine. check to see if you have voltage , you may need a voltage test meter too and tools

I can't get it to work and can't find the manuals anywhere.

Often the problem when these will not run is that the safety switch is not being closed. Often rotating the cover will cause a prong to depress a rod thaat actuates the safety switch. Explore the unit to look for such an interlock. I can almost guarantee that it is there someplace. Occasionally the prong that actuates it gets broken or worn.

Braun multipractic food processor model 4259.. Need the insert carrier. Spindle post from bottom to flange is 1 3/4 inches. Where might I find one? What kind of plastic is it made from? Would an epoxy or...

The disc carrier you're looking for is Part No 7002058 (the number may be stamped somewhere on the holder itself). It's like a circular/figure 8 kinda looking thing on a shaft. If you're in Australia I'll be able to help get spares.

Don't recommend using glue to repair due to stress breaking it again, and for food safety issues.

I cannot get my processor to start

Food processors are notorious for having safety interlocks. If everything - and I mean everything - isn't attached in the correct sequence and clicked into place, one of the safety switches may not be engaged.

You can test it by switching back to the setup you used before to see if it will still operate. If so, then CAREFULLY review all the steps needed to use the new setup.
