I have nokia 5800
it worked fine all these years
but suddenly last night when i tried to make it work
it said sim card registration failed
my friend asked me to try it in some other phone
but the same thing happened
it still said sim card registration failed
is there a way out
what probably would be the problem and how can i get over it??

okay i can try doin that but as u say that the sim is damage physically,what according to u can be cause?? and i cannot see any kind of damage on my sim what kind of a damage can this be? and does that mean that i will have to change my sim??okay

If it showing you that sim card registration failed then then make sure your sim card is work or not.
if your same Sim card works in different phone. it could be that your phone has been blocked by the network
try to insert your sim to other mobile then try balance inquiry after you have recieved the message turn off your mobile, remove the sim card and insert it again to your nokia 5800.

You might have filled up the memory to the brim and the phone doesn't have enough to switch on. Try reformat to original settings. anything you stored on the phone will be lost.
How to reformat your phone, first turn it OFF. Press* 3 sendat the same time and keep them pressed while you turn the phone on.
Give it time to work.
Remember, do not let go the 3 keys until you see the formatting screen. After a few minutes when the process is over, your Nokia N70 will be back to the original delivered system.
