It would be difficult to figure out what the actual problem is, without having much details. Well, if the Lap is brand new, you will have to charge the battery for a specific period during it's first charge. The time for charging will be clearly specified in your manual. If you have charged it fine and since it is new, I would advice you to make use of your warranty. Go back to your dealer or contact Dell support center. Don't break any seals as it may take off your warranty.

MY BUFFALO HARD DRIVE model hd-HC320U2-us WILL NOT LOAD WHEN CONNECTED TO MY LAP OR DESK TOP WILL I BE ABLE TO GET MY INFORMATION OFF THE HARD DRIVE, IS THE INFO GONE! WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM POWER LIGHT COMES ON BUT THE ACCESS LIGHT DOES NOT BLINK............ TO SHOW CONNECTION HAPPENING

Try a factory reset.
Go to the system info screen under console settings. HIt Left trigger, Right trigger, x, y, Left bumper, Right bumper, up, left bumper, left bumper, X.
If this doesn't work you can take apart the HDD and check the cable attached to the HDD. Inside the shell of the 360 HDD there is a 2.5" lap top harddrive. The cable attaching it to the connector that goes into the top of the xbox may have come loose.

Reinstall Vista.

There will be a function switch to select the view mode ( Lap top monitor only/ LCD only / Lap top monitor and LCD Monitor) Select either the last two.

Normally every Lap is coming wit internal mic; so

1- Simply check your mic is mute or not

2 - Check your mic volume

3 - Use sound recorder that comings with windows (just record & play)

4 - Use an external MIC (known as working) with sound recorder

5 - Check in control panel->sound and audio device --> default recording device and Voice recoding device as your system’s built-in audio device (some times it’s changing when we installing b-tooth deice)

6 - Check device manager --> under sound audio controller for any issues

7 – Uninstall & install completely your Audio Device driver with default settings.

** If you didn’t solve your prob; my advice is take your lap to a good technician with component level Repair skills.

Reset the Bios.That solved the same problem i had.
