First, makes sure your songs are in proper format for your mp3. The correct formats may be: mp3, wmv, wma, mp4.
Second, did the device fall off and hit something frequently? that might have caused a memory corruption, causing the player to freeze up.
Check if you can play just a few songs only, and If the player freezes even with just a few songs, the memory is corrupted and therefore must take it back for repairs.
I had the same problem with mine. So i was using the program Windows Midea Player when i converted my songs to my MP3 player which at first they were in WMA format. then i tryed to change. so i changed the format to MP3 and that put the songs into order of the album.
If you installed the firmware update, you might have forgotten to change the device to MSC mode.. try going to settings>USB mode>MSC
This should probably work..
to stop a song while its playing, click the |<< button while you have the screen with the current song. (you can pause a song on this same screen with the >|| button) If you have gone back to any of the menu screens, wait for a couple seconds and the player will automatically go back tot he song display screen so you can stop the song.
