The back is held on by clips that take a certain tool.

I appreciate the schematics on seat removal, but it doesn't show how to take the back panel off of the front passenger bucket seat. I need to take this off to get to the air bag (side unit).

The Nissan maxima seats have electric adjusters, which allow you to move the seat forward and backward, up and down, and tilt forward and backward. The seats are securely bolted to the car's floorboard. To remove the seat follow this procedure:- First move the seat to forward direction. Then remove the plastic covers from rear side of the seat.If its hard to remove, use a screw driver to pry the cover. The slide covers fitted with bolts.remove those bolts by socket wrench.once bolts are removed, move seat to rear side. Now remove cover from front side like you did in rear side.Remove the bolts from front side like you removed in rear side. This seats are electrically charged seat.So many a times there is a minor current saved in its connector. So to discharge this current. remove the battery cables and then disconnect the seat electric connector. Now tilt it a bit and remove the seat from the car. ----------Refit the seat in reverse. ---------- also if you want detailed instruction with complete step by step information and diagrams. Please click this link directly:--- http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Maxima/2010/SE.pdf ---------on page number 67 and 109 its given diagram for bucket seat removal. -------------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

You will have to take the material and the foam off of the seat to get to the bolts that hold the back of the bucket seat on. Then unbolt the two torx headed bolts.

The trunk is stuck closed on my 1999 nissan maxima. the release clicks, but won't work--and the key will not work as well.

I had a similar problem with my 1988 Toyota. You may have to remove the back seat and climb into the trunk through the cab of the vehicle to access the latch mechanism. Once you do this, you can find the problem and address it. My problem was broken clips on the connecting rods from the key to the actual latch. There may be some broken linkage that keeps the key from moving. I hope this helps. FYI don't do it on a hot day!
