I have a PRO100 Reddy Heater would not stay lit when you release the ignite button. I replaced the thermocouple and it did nothing. What else could be the problem besides the valve?

I had the same problem. Heater was propane with a long hose for movement.

I put the heater on my garage work bench and the thermocouple tested okay.
Tried to restart and it ran like a champ. Reassembled bottom panel, retested great.
When I set it on the floor, it went out! Hmmmm.

Restarted back on the benck. Great. No good on floor....Very cold (28 F) in the garage.

Think the propane might be going liquid in the hose...when heater hose has a "drip loop"
it works fine.

Maybe this is nuts, but it works keeping the heater up a bit on a STABLE surface.

I lights when I hold the button down and goes off when I release it. It is a model for propane and says model 100,104,106,110. reddy heater

You need to hold the button down for 15 to 30 seconds before it will stay lit. If you are doing that, the thermocouple is bad. They are cheap and can be found at any hardware store.

Heater will not stay lit after releasing button

Make sure your thermocouple tip is in the pilot flame and the other end is snuggly screwed into the control. Clean the pilot if not heating thermocouple. If pilot is heating tip thermocouple and it still goes out after holding the button down for 2 minutes, then your thermocouple is likely bad.

Reddy heater rlp 100

Sounds like the thermocouple is not working or the flame is not hitting the thermocouple. It may take 30 seconds of flame or longer to keep it on. Check for a loose connection at the gas valve.

Either a 30# or 110# tank of propane will work. You might even get by for a short period of time using a gas grill tank, depending upon how cold it is outside.

Forced air propane heater won't stay lit

two items come into play here - 1) the hot surface cutout and 2) the flame detect Cd cell. Check alignment of the Cd cell or just replace it. The hot surface cutout has two terminals that plug into the two tabs on the millivolt generator.
