check your PA/CB switch and your microphone connection, I don't know this specific radio, but these are the two primary items that can cause this issue on most cb radios.
These radios are know as what's called 'export' radios. They are imported under the auspices of being a 10 Meter Amateur radio and then through a typically easy modification are made to allow the selection of US CB channels. usually the modification involves plugging in a loose connector inside the radio radio chassis and/or removing a jumper wire soldered to a circuit board. If there is a nearby CB Shop they will usually do this for a modest fee.
Keep in mind that a radio needs to be Type Accepted by the FCC to be legal to use on the CB band in the US and export radios typically are not. Be sure to check the rear label for an FCC ID number.
Q) Do C B Radios work from electricity, too, or just from a vehicle?
A) You will need to buy a 12volt power supply to power the CB if you are using it in your home. Also you will have to have a house mounted antenna.
Statement) I don't know what brand of C B Radio to get. I'll need one with tech support.
Reply) For simplicity, I would suggest getting a Realistic brand CB from Radio Shack, they will also have the antenna and installation hardware (for home and vehicle) along with a SWR meter (you will need this, trust me). As for tech support well any brand you go with will be a problem in the area of tech support, most of the time you will have to find a CB shop or some that is CB savvy to act as your tech support.
i know this may sound stupid. I can not tell you how many times a radio came into the shop with this problem.try this make shure that the cb/pa switch is on cb not PA.
