My repairman replaced the soap dispenser and the next time I used the dishwasher I noticed a few drops of water on the floor under the dishwasher door. I felt under the door and the insulation was soaking wet. Did the repairman not reinstall the door correctly and what is possible causing the leak?

SOURCE: problems with Whirlpool dishwasher model GU1500XTKB0

will these units (silo and jtrip) start back on their own? if so, it is likely they are heating the water.
otherwise it sounds like a logic board, unless there is a defective door switch or sensor issue.
electronics seem to be a recurring problem with whirlpool.
i would ask whirlpool (electorlux) to either buy it back or fix it.
good luck

SOURCE: Dishwasher soap dispenser sticks

Mine dishwasher (a Maytag) did this also. At first it was becoming stuck because of the soap. My repair guy cleaned it and I switched to liquid soap and it worked great another 2 years then did it again. That time it was just wore out and had to be replaced. I was told it was no longer available but we found it here http://www.repairclinic.com/and our repair guy installed it. He was amazed because he had even called everywhere.

SOURCE: Dishsoap stays in soap dispenser

We had problems with soap remaining in the dispenser and dishes not getting clean when we used gel dish doap. We changed to the cakes of soap with a Jet Dry Power Ball in the middle, and now they clean fine.

SOURCE: Dry Dishwasher Soap Still in dispenser after wash.

so here it is...
get a screw driver (you may need a "star" head driver as well), get in there and take out all that you can and clean it (it all comes out pretty easily)...you will find a lot of undisolved soap and hard water build up...rinse it, scrape it, vacuum it...just get out as much as you can...keep note of how you took it apart so you can put it back together...then put 1/2 to a whole gallon of vinegar in and run a cycle (hi-temp if you have that option)...if it was like mine most of your sprayers were gummed up and the water just wasn't moving through the machine...

to avoid this problem...use half of what you have been using of your detergent...and only fill the "pre rinse" section if you are doing pots and pans....and then only fill that half way as well.
after that run a few cups of vinegar through on an empty cycle once a month...
whole job (not including the wash cycle) 1.5 hours...

SOURCE: Leaking water on floor in front of dishwasher

If your dishwasher leaks, check these:Main tub seal
Door gasket or seal
Water-inlet valve
Hoses

Main tub seal
Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly.

The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the:

1. Lower rack
2. Spray arm
3. Spray arm support
4. Wash/drain impellers

Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal
Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these as necessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher, and replace the valve.

Hoses
Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.

Updated question - What would cause a Whirlpool Dishwasher DU1148XTPB3 Soap Dispenser's trigger/spring to continuously try to open the soap dispenser after it has been opened.

here are a few possible causes for a dishwasher soap dispenser's trigger/spring to continuously try to open the dispenser after it has been opened:

The trigger/spring mechanism may be damaged or broken. This could be caused by normal wear and tear over time, or it could be the result of a foreign object getting stuck in the mechanism.
The dishwasher's control board may be malfunctioning. If the control board is not functioning properly, it could send a signal to the soap dispenser to continuously open and close.
There may be a problem with the dishwasher's timer or motor. If the timer or motor is not working properly, it could cause the soap dispenser to malfunction.
To troubleshoot the problem, you could try cleaning the soap dispenser and checking for any foreign objects that may be stuck in the mechanism. You could also try resetting the dishwasher by turning off the power and unplugging it for a few minutes, then plugging it back in and turning it on. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to call a professional for further assistance or to consider replacing the soap dispenser.

Dishes not geting cleaned. Soap is left in the door dispenser only partially used.

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps...

Put dish detergent in rinse agent dispenser by accident

Hello and welcome to Fixya.

Aside from physically removing the dispenser assembly ( which would be quite involved and include taking the door panel off ) you should be able to "nuetralize" the dish"soap" by adding as much "white vinegar" as possible into the same location as the soap...the jet dry reservoir.

In fact you may have to try this several times, but you could also try pouring straight water into the reservoir, but that will take some time since it is "soap" as opposed to detergent, hence needing a lot of water to de-lute it to much of a degree.

I'd go with the "white vinegar" and repeat that several times through a "rinse & hold" cycle. ( do not add any dishes or cutlery...run it empty )

You can also add a couple of tablespoons of "vegatable oil" directly into the bottom of the dishwasher and some of your regular "detergent" before starting the "rinse & hold" cycle. This will give the soap something to react with and the "detergent" will also help "neutralize" the soap,,,hopefully breaking it down as a result.

To answer the second part of your post...

The effect is going to be oversudsing in the rinse cycle since this is when the jet dry/rinse agent is dispensed in the cycle. So what I'm hoping to accomplish with these suggestion's is to minimize the oversudsing or prevent it all together until the reservoir is "purged" of soap.

Let me know how you make out. It usually works in the cases I've had...eventually. I've seen plenty as you are not the first nor will you be the last...we all screw up, that's life ;o)

Good luck.

At some point the dishwasher leaks onto the floor. what could be the possible problem?

this are the possibilities for the leak :-----
Door gasket loose/torn
Corner gaskets or door baffle/vent gasket
Door lock/latch loose/broken
Split spray arm
Over filling with water...usually the level is just under the heating element is normal
Something leaking through the door...like the soap or rinse agent dispenser gasket, silverware basket button.
Door hinge(s) bent
Wrong soap was used...dish sink soap instead of dishwasher soap
Rinse aid being used with mechanically softened water ( makes foam or suds inside the dishwasher )

Leaks from under the unit:
Look for whiting or calcium stain on the motor and pump assembly = motor and pump assembly seal leak...access panel removal help
Hose for upper spray arm split
Fill hose split or fill hose spout air inlet is calcium covered
Drain hose is split
Rusted liner...metal liners only
Fill valve leaking or allowing water to fill all the time
Heating element ends....where they come out through the dishwasher liner
Float or float gasket.

Dishsoap stays in soap dispenser

ok, either a spring, trigger prob, on the latch, or a electronic prob. ok so to see if the latch is ok (or not) look closely for soap residue and scum, that may be hindering the latch or spring under. use metho, and warm water to clean this part. secondly go down to a white goods repair place and take your electrical component, button, lights its all one unit, simple unscrew it, i do think you will need a set of torque screws for that tho... anyhow ask the guy to get you a new or second hand one and install it. the timer will run, and the clip will release. good luck!
