Question about Computers & Internet

I have a Roland MC 500 sequencer with a bad floppy disc drive. I have a chance to purchase a Roland MC 50 sequencer for parts. Can the MC 50 floppy disc drive be swapped for the MC-500 floppy drive? Will that work?

No, it

No it's not compatible. The mc-50 is much more versatile though. mc-80 has zip drive with much more storage space.

Yes, you can change the drive out yourself if you are a competent repairman. I you want to go to usb, chech ebay. there is a seller there that sells the replacement parts.

EXTERNAL FLOPPY DRIVE FOR DESIGNER 1 ?? HOW TO

Sorry, an external floppy drive will not work for a Designer 1. You would have no where to plug the cable in to. The internal floppy drive is quite expensive. You might want to look around for a used Designer 1. You can probably find one for $400-$500. Replacing the floppy drive on yours would cost you almost $400 depending on the local dealer pricing.

Mitsubishi floppy drive is bad.Need to translate floppy discs to usb.

Hi,

How many floppy discs have you got to transfer?

If only a few are involved, perhaps a friend could help. If you have a lot, it may be cheaper to consider purchasing an external USB floppy drive.

Where does pin 1 go on the floppy drive itself. on the right or left

just flip the cable around, its not going to ruin the drive, it's a 50/50 chance, and you will know when you have it right when the drive works

Roland xp 50 storage medium problem

Hi.

There is a solution that reads and writes on CF cards. It's call HDM uniflash or something like that.

I didn't try in my xp50, but others says it works.

A bit expensive for my taste, and maybe just for handy hands...

Regards.
