You need to lookup your computer model at support.hp.com and look in the drivers section for the audio driver. Make sure you select the driver specific to the version of Windows you are using. it is free.

I found out how to fix the no sound problem on The HP Pavilion DV1000 Look under Dv1310 thats the model number the driver your looking for is SP30262.exe
