I need to download music to a SD memory card for my granddaughter's DSI. How do I go about doing this on an Acer Aspire 5610 series laptop when there is no SD card slot in the laptop. Thank You, Need HELP fast !!!!!!!!! Deetsie Jordan

Possible that PC is hanging up as there is fault on the OS (operating system) or a virus in the OS. Also it is possible that the backup battery (CMOS) has low voltage or the memory card is a suspect. In this case you need to check the voltage and also try and swap a memory card. Sometimes the memory card connections can be faulty either on the card or on the slot. Cleaning the slot and card must be done before you try a replacement. If the PC boots and fails then the hard disc can have bad sectors or is corrupt. However if there is no result the motherboard also can be suspected. In this case you might need the help of proper tools and equipment support to do a chip level service.

so are you asking why is it not reading it automatically or that it does not read the card? check to make sure the 4Gb SD card is formatted properly so that Vista can in fact read it. hope this helps.

No, just insert the Memory Card in the 5-in-1 Card Reader slot. The Memory Card will appear on the "My Computer" or "Computer" window. Click on that to open the contents of the Memory Card.

To add music to your DSi, first you need a spare sd card, and a pc or laptop that can sync with the card. Remember that the DSi only plays AAC type songs, so convert the songs you want to copy-paste on the card. This can be done easily on Itunes on which I use by right-clicking on the song and it will show you there ' convernt to AAC'. After saving the songs , take out the card from the pc or laptop and you can now insert the card in your DSi and play music and enjoy.

Unfortunately it seems like a short circuit on your motherboard that Acer wold need to replace.

You need to purchase or borrow a USB memory card reader.
When you insert the SD card in the reader and then connect it to your USB port on your computer, the computer will see it as an external memory device.
