You can download the operating manual for your machine in pdf format right to your computer from www.bunn.com By the way, I wouldn't personally put vinigar in any Bunn machine, as it takes forever to run enough water through them to get rid of the vinigar taste.

SOURCE: cleaning a bunn coffeemaker

the old fashioned way to clean a coffee maker is to run vinager through it then follow with a couple of pots of water that has a bit a baking soda in it.

SOURCE: I mislaid my instruction booklet, how do I clean

With your brewer still turned on and full of water, pour 1 quart of white vinegar into the top and place the decanter on the base and close the lid. Allow the vinegar to stay in there for 2 hours. Then you will need to flush out the machine with 8-10 decanters of water. There is a manual located on the website www.bunn.com. Select @ home then go to products. Select the model and then there is an option to download the manual. Or you can call customer service with the model and code date and a manual can be sent out to you.

Should I leave the Bunn Pour Omatic Coffeemaker plugged in at all times?

Yes, the coffee maker keeps a tank of water pre-heated, that is what allows it to brew coffee in a couple of minutes. The exception would be vacation (away from home) or other times when you won't be using it for a few days. Visit www.bunnomatic.com if you have lost your user manual.

I cleaned my Bunn pour o matic

If the unit works okay, there is no damage. I would suggest using vinegar, or better to use a recommended cleaner from an appliance dealer, rather than something as strong as CLR.

After cleaning the coffeemaker with any type of cleaner make sure it is properly rinsed out!

How do I use the self-cleaning option

According to the manual for IS series Mr. Coffee for programmable models:
1. Prepare one batch of Mr. Coffee coffeemaker cleaner. Pour the mixture into the water reservoir. Remove the water filtration disk from the machine.
4 cups or 20 oz. of undiluted, white household vinegar may be used as a substitute for the cleaner.
2. Place an empty paper filter or permanent filter into the filter basket and close.
3. Place the empty decanter back in the unit, centered on the warmer plate.
4. Press SELECT button until the red CLEAN indicator light is illuminated. For your convenience the cleaning cycle is automatic. The entire cycle will take 45-60 min to complete. During the cleaning your coffeemaker will:
  • Slow brew approx. 3 cups of cleaning solution.
  • Pause for 30 min (the CLEAN light will remain on to alert you that the process is active). At the end of the pause period your coffeemaker will beep.
  • After 30 mins your coffeemaker will brew the remainder of the cleaning solution.
  • When complete, the CLEAN light will turn off and your coffeemaker will automatically beep and shut off.
5.Discard the cleaning solution and rinse the decanter thoroughly with clean water.
6. Fill the water reservoir with clean fresh water.
7. Place the empty decanter back on the coffeemaker, centered on the warmer plate.
8. Remove and discard the filter used during the cleaning cycle and replace it with a fresh paper filter. If a permanent filter was used during cleaning, remove it and rinse it thoroughly before replacing it in the filter basket.
9.Begin brewing and allow the full brew cycle to complete.
Repeat steps 6-9 one more time.
