Question about Reddy Heater-30-55,000 BTU Variable

When I release the ignition switch no matter how long hold it before releasing the flame goes out but the fan remains running fine. Is this a thermostate problem or another issue.

There is a flame sensor on these units that senses that the flame is lit....it can become defective over time...it should be right on the housing right where the flame comes out of the nozzle and should have 2 leads coming off it...you can contact the manufacturer to find where and who carries parts for your model.

Problem could be the thermocouple burnt out .FSD
(fail safe device) normally you push the button in and the pilot light or flame is ignited,this flame heats the thermocouple that generates a small voltage that holds the gas valve open.
if the thermocouple is burnt out or not set correctly in the flame or the pilot flame is to small , as you say when you release the button it goes out, looks like you need a new thermocouple.
The fan needs electricity. Is it pugged in or connected to a power source? No blown fuses? On/off switch on? Hope that helps.

I have a Smeg oven with gas hob. One of the gas rings doesn't work. When I turn the knob it sparks and the flame ignites. But no matter how long I hold it down, when I release the knob the

Gas ignites with lever ignition but when lever is released gas cuts out
I can't tell what kind of appliance you're talking about.... but, here's what I know.. This "lever" you're talking of kind of stumps me, but try, after the gas lights, to hold the lever in the position you had when you lit the flame. Hold it on for about a minute... then release it... and see if the flame will remain going. If you can't keep the flame going "no matter what", you probably need to clean or replace the flame sensor.

Janitrol GUPS075-3 Furnace burners will not stay lit
The first thing I would do is make sure the flame sensor is clean, this is a metal rod immersed in the burner flame on the opposite side of the igniter. If too much oxidation builds up on it, it will not allow the burner to stay lit. To clean, just turn off furnace and remove flame sensor and clean with steel wool and then reinstall. If this does not solve the problem there may be a problem with the gas valve.

Rinnai Royale IB35R ,the flame goes off once I released the press button, it wont hold on as usual
pamgee - it may be a case of not holding the ignition button in long enough ( at least 15 seconds) so that the flame failure device (Thermocouple) will get hot enough, to maintain the pilot flame and the low burner. If it fails to light and hold the first time, push the igniter button again and release it. Wait 30 seconds and try lighting it again.

Cant get my heater to stay ignited
