O to Sears.com. They have manuals to download for FREE. Your model is 385 11206 Ultra Mini Kenmore. I had the same problem, misplaced my manual and found it online yesterday 01-20-11. It's upsetting to me that so many people are on here trying to get everyone to pay $10 for something they are getting for FREE. I've tried several times to copy it to this posting without luck. Hopefully the money makers will not delete my posting and everyone can get the free manuals. I think they have manuals available for most things they sell available free like this.Good Luck!

The manual will tell you how to thread it. :)

My Kenmore Mini Ultra sewing machine won't sew the button stitch. I have followed the instructions on the manual but still the thread does not get sewn onto the fabric. Simple straight stitches are ok

it's possible that there could be a problem with the gear or cam that does the button hole stitch

try a different needle--one for the fabric being sewed
try a different bobbin --make sure the bobbin is not warped or damaged
try different thread-- use EVERY thread guide

make sure the bobbin is wound correctly--inserted correctly in to the bobbin case--and turned the right way.

Loading bobbin kenmore mini ultra

REPLACE THE NEEDLE AND INSERT WITH THE FLAT SIDE TO THE BACK OR TO THE RIGHT DEPENDING ON THE TYPE. HOLD THE NEEDLE THREAD WHILE YOU TURN THE HAND WHEEL. THE BOBBIN THREAD SHOULD RISE. IF IT DOESN'T THEN IT IS LIKELY THE NEEDLE AND THE HOOK (UNDER THE BOBBIN CARRIER) ARE OUT OF TIME. YOU WILL NEED TO VISIT YOUR PRO FOR THIS.

Top thread won't grab bobbin thred. It's a Kenmore Mini Ultra

Re-sync the bobbin to the hook:
the needle should "pick up" the bobbin thread when the needle is about 1/4 inch below the hook move the mechanism slowly and, observe the interaction and you will see the adjustment screws on the carrier shaft you will need to adjust
