Just got MSI 870A Fuzion mobo. Running it with GTS 250 video card 6 GB DDR 3 Patriot ram and 1100 T. It won't post! 4 LED lights come on on the board itself meaning that it is in "Phase 2" according to the manual, but I am not sure what that means. Are there any common problems with this board that would make it unable to post? Any help is greatly appreciated, my friend and I are frustrated beyond belief here. Thanks for any feedback!

You need to have 6 gigs of free dynamic ram.(Not including that used by the operating system and any other applications you have.
The way that memory is organised in a computer these days is usually in pairs or DRAM (dynamic random access memory) sticks which are matched. This allows the CPU to withdraw data from both memory sticks in the same clock cycle (DDR double data rate) which improves the over all speed of the processing.
So legal combinations over 4 gigs which will use the dual channel feature on your motherboard will probably be.
2 x 4 gigs sticks = 8 Gig DRAM
2 x 8 gig sticks = 16 Gig DRAM
Below is the minimum specification requirement.
Note: MINIMUM Faster CPU better graphics card and More ram is better.
CPU:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
CPU Speed:
Info
RAM:
6 GB
OS:
Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better
Sound Card:
Yes
Free Disk Space:
40 GB
The dual 6 pin, I believe, is used so you can take power from the power supply and pass the connection back where it was taken from with a jumper. The card should need only one connection for power (But it IS needed) Power supply is vital for a computer. From your description I would not get less than 600watt. The power supply should be rated at least 125% of what you need worst case.
Take all but one stick of ram out of your computer and try to boot the system. Usually when your mobo wont post and your video card flashes red you have a bad ram module.
You motherboard has onboard video. It's possible it needs to be disabled and the option changed to use the pci or pci-express slot for the Ati card you installed. Since you have no post error beeps this is the best place to start. Also I had built a system not to long ago and had a similar problem. Resetting the cmos on the motherboard (usually a pin combo) solved the issue.
Start by hooking up your vga cable to the onboard video.
