Although the problem is not fixable without replacing the entire LCD touch screen, you may still be able to get a replacement through the warranty program. It never hurts to ask and you may be surprised. Many companies want their customers happy and they may replace your unit for you. You might have to "forget" to mention that the damage was your fault. Unfortunatly there is a fine wire Grid below the surface of the glass, the grid detects where you are touching on the screen, with the glass being broken, the grid is broken, which will cause dead spots or regions on the touch screen. You will have to replace the Touch screen or the unit which ever is most cost effective.
