I have a Fluke 177 that after initialization briefly displays a code "f177" before going to the selected scale. Not sure what it means. Any help would be appreciated.

It's telling you that it is a Fluke 177...ie the (F177). Absolutely normal.

That's a display of the model number, i.e. F(luke)177. This is quite normal for the Fluke 170 series!

White balance adjustment
Pre-adjustment
The set should be working for over 30 minutes before white balance adjustment so that it can be in a stable state. Use white balance apparatus CA210 and change to BBY channel to adjust white balance; Only need to adjust chromaticity coordinates when color temperature is 10000K (namely "COOL") for the unit. To meet testing requirements of BBY when color temperature is 8000K or 6500K, make sure chromaticity coordinates of bright scale is X=280 ± 5 Y=288 ± 5, chromaticity coordinates of dark scale is X=280± 8 Y=288± 8; Manual adjustment of both groups of white balance datum YPbPr white balance adjustment.

My fluke 45 multimeter displays error 6. how can i solve it?

This is explanation on Error 6 from Service Manual:
EEROM (A1U5) meter configuration corrupted or EEROM not initialized. At power up, A1U6 reads CRC from EEROM (A1U5) location, then reads configuration data from another location in EEROM, calculates an algorithm to compare to the CRC. If an error is determined, the meter configuration is set to factory default and Error 6 is displayed.

I have two Taylor Lithium scales and neither one of them will turn on. I have replaced the batteries, still they will not turn on. I have done a "reboot" as suggested on FixYa, but without...

The scale may need to be initialized. This process is necessary because the scale was moved during the shipping process. Initializing the scale "re-seats" the internal parts allowing the scale to find the correct "zero." Here is how to initialize your scale:
- Place the scale back on a hard surface floor.
- With one foot only, place just enough weight on the scale for the display shows zero's or dashes. Once you see zeros or dashes remove your foot.
- Wait for the scale to turn off again.
- Step up onto the scale for a weight.

Or, your scale may be on an uneven surface or on carpet. Be sure to place your scale on a hard, flat surface to get an accurate weighing. Are you sure that the place the new battery with the "+" sign up into the battery compartment?

Keep us updated.

I just changed the battery and I keep getting the temperatures in Celsius instead of Fahren. How do I change it to F?

You need to discinnect the battery and reinstall it. When you reconnect the battery press the 'SET' button within 15 seconds. The temperature reading will now be set to Degrees F.

See below.

Setting/Changing ºC and ºF Temperature Scales
The food safety thermometer can display temperature in either the °C
(Celsius) or °F (Fahrenheit) scales. The desired scale is selected at the time
the battery is installed:
Selecting the °C Scale:
When the battery is connected to the battery leads the °C scale indicator
shows on the display for approximately 15 seconds. If the SET button is
not pressed the unit will time out and default to the °C or Celsius scale.
Selecting the °F Scale:
If the SET button is pressed within 15 seconds of connecting the battery to
the battery leads, the temperature scale display will toggle to the °F scale
indicator and the unit will now default to the °F or Fahrenheit scale

Err 4

Sounds like it wasn't initialized, even though it says Er 4 instead of Er 0... According to my manual, to (re)initialize it and reset it to zero, tap the platform lightly. It should show zeroes running across the display for a second or two, then show all zeroes and turn off. It should be re-initialized...

Error Codes for the 5757 (according to my manual):

Er 0 Initialization error (remedy described above)

Er 1 Instability error (step off the scale, then back on)

Er 2 Overload warning (registering weight beyond the 440 pound max)

Er 3 Contact error (body impedance beyond technical limit - try dampening feet and try again for better contact)

Er 4 Bodyfat error (bodyfat percentage is beyond range - try dampening feet and try again for better contact)

Er 5 Bodywater error (bodywater percentage is beyond range - try dampening feet and try again for better contact)
