First bread machine, one paddle would not spin, also black gunk accumulated under paddles - great customer service - bread machine replaced. 2nd bread machine, another malfunction - again, great customer service - replaced. 3rd. bread machine, functionaly well enough for douch cycle, not great for baking loaf in machine - comes out heavy, and black gunk accumulating under paddles. The customer service is fantastic! The product is awful. My first bread machine, (not a black and decker) was outstanding. It literally walked off the counter while in the kneading cycle and fell on the floor. Thus it needed to be relaced. Had it for years - absolutely no problems. Am I the only one who has these ongoing problems?

Hi...The black gunk under the paddle seems to be caused by the sealed bearing located on the bottom of the bread pan. When this seal breaks the lubrication leaks out. It's a problem with the bread pan and not the machine. Seems the new machines cost more and are made with really cheap bread pans. I've had good luck with my Sunbeam and it's warranted for a year. Just my opinion....Hank

Mixing paddles come off during mixing, am using teflon tape on shaft to hold paddles on, what is a better fix?

Sound like you need new shafts or paddles and I know the paddles can cost $30 each. so think about a new model or buy one at a thrift store and try those paddle or use the machine. I got a great one for $10 . :)

Can't remove paddle

Hi Nancy, If it were one of the metal ones coated with Teflon I would advise something different. Since it is plastic you will need to soak it again overnight with some soapy water. Tomorrow get a toothpick and begin to pick at the bread gunk in the little gap between the post and the flat edge of the post where the bread gunk collects. Once you clear enough of that out a little wiggling side to side and especially up and down should free your paddle. Fortunately B&D's usually have enough of a gap where you can do what I describe. Some paddles fit so snugly there is no gap to work with. Whatever you do don't use anything metal to try and free your paddle, you could damage the teflon coating on your pan and you never want to do that. Let me know how it goes.....

Hi, Take the paddle out of the machine at the end of the last kneading cycle and before final rise.. Use pause or take pan out of machine to remove paddle. OR... spray the shaft with a small amount of olive oil. This should allow paddle to come out when bread is done. You will have to fish the paddle out of the bread in this step. Hank

B2300 Bread Machine: Good morning - Both paddles in the machine come of...

I am experiencing the same thing. I've spoken with a rep at 1-800-231-9786 and they said that if my machine was still under warranty they would replace the paddles and the pan. I purchased mine in 2007 and therefore my cost to replace the above would be $68.00 Cdn. That's getting close to purchasing a new machine. Does anyone have any ideas... wrap the rotating shafts with plumber's tape or anything else that might ensure the paddles will stay in place?

I need to replace bread maker paddle

Your model number for the all in one pro should be a B1650 (single paddle model)

If that is correct then this is one source for the paddle:

http://www.abtecparts.com/commerce/search/products/?product_id=01XBD42959200&merchant_id=1933

An informationl note about Black and Decker products is that there are replacement parts for anything they make as long as they have no discontinued the model number. Once the model number is discontinued they have aftermarket replacement parts for 5 years only.
(your replacement paddle is starting to show up as no longer available)

The orignal paddle part number is: 429592-00

Here is a 2nd source for the paddle:

Loaf of bread...clumpy mess

Hi...
Yup check those belts. Also make sure the paddle spins freely when you spin it by hand. If the paddle does not spin freely, then the sealed bearing may be going bad. Hank

Paddles stick to posts & tear big chunks out of bread

Try some hard crisco on the post before putting in the paddle or any ingredients. Your paddle SHOULD COME OUT with your loaf. Then when it has cooled off some, you turn it on it's side and surgically remove the ****** from the bottom center. Try to remember the shape(of the paddle) you need to excise for your loaf. Have you ever noticed that most kitchen machines are designed by men?? As with floors that are horrible to try to clean. The big belief is that all companies have test kitchens.. not so. And we my dear must deal with items that do not function as one would logically think they should. I hope you give the company an earfull of customer feedback. Mine is an OSTER. Five 1/2 years and doing fine even with whole wheat, and desert pastry.
