SOURCE: picture adjustment questions

*The brightness control setting determines how bright your picture will be. *The contrast control sets the gain of the video circuit. This determines the difference between dark and light scenes. Low contrast settings make the picture "hazy". High contrast settings make the picture more distinction between dark and light scenes. *The sharpness control determine the frequency response of the video circiut. High sharpness settings give better resolution but also shows more noise in your picture. Lower sharpness settings smoothe out the picture removing noise but also fine detail. It needs to be set for the best all around picture. *Picture Enhancement is pre-set adjustments which give you different picture qualities. You just select the one you like. Stargazer

SOURCE: 50" rear projection zenith television

It sounds to me like one of your color tubes went. If I had to guess I would say the red tube is shot. Its cheaper to buy a new tv almost. You can get a quote over the phone and compare the cost of repair to the cost of the tv.

Plano tv samsung

Adjust the brightness until it starts making the black in the picture slightly milks and back it off slightly
Adjust the contrast so that the whitest whites show detail, too much contrast and they disappear
Adjust colour to suit, start with it half way, look at flesh tones on a news reader as a guide and adjust sharpness so you can see detail but not so that there are false or visible edges around things

Is there a way to access the tint function on the Apex4088? It is not accessable when we go into the picture setup menu. It appears to be locked.

Hello

The Tint function can be accesed by the following steps.

The PICTURE menu offers options to enhance and refine the picture displayed on your TV based on ambient room light and personal preferences. Adjustment options include contrast, brightness, color, sharpness and color temperature

Press the MENU button on the remote control. Navigate using t u arrow buttons to select PICTURE. Press the down q arrow button to highlight PICTURE MODE, then press the u arrow button to select your viewing preference from 4 factory options:
STANDARD > DYNAMIC > MOVIE > PERSONAL. The STANDARD setting is recommended for most viewing environments. Depending on the ambient light level in the room, you may find one of the other options more pleasing.

To make more critical adjustments based on your own preferences in PERSONAL:

• Use down q arrow button to highlight Contrast. Navigate using the
t u arrow buttons to increase or decrease contrast intensity.
• Use down q arrow button to highlight Brightness. Navigate using the t u arrow buttons to increase or decrease overall brightness.
• Use down q arrow button to highlight Color. Navigate using the
t u arrow buttons to increase or decrease color intensity.
• Use down q arrow button to highlight Tint. Navigate using the
t u arrow buttons to adjust colors toward green or reddish tint.
• Use down q arrow button to highlight Sharpness. Navigate using the t u arrow buttons to soften or view crisper edges in the picture.
• Use down q arrow button to highlight Color Temperature. Navigate using the t u arrow buttons to select COOL (more bluish tone), NORMAL or WARM. The default setting is NORMAL. WARM mode will provide color that is calibrated to D6500° Kelvin, the standard color that broadcast stations and the Motion Picture industry consider as the most accurate to view programming.
Note: When adjustments are completed, you may select another menu by pressing the Menu button.

I have an ACER X203H and cannot adjust the contrast or the brightness. I can bring up the MENU, however I cannot adjust because when I HIT ENTER the menu disappears.

Press the Menu key on the Monitor to bring up the dialog box press Menu again because it defaults to the Brightness Icon. You will see the lower half of the dialog box change color. Use the left or right arrow to move off of Acer eColor Management to the User setting. Then press Menu again to edit contrast or brightness. User the left and right arrows on the Monitor to move to the desired adjustment, press Menu to allow adjust then arrow left for less or arrow right for more.
You really just keep moving between the Menu and arrow til you get it right.. I definitely needed to turn down the brightness on my monitor.

Color Problem after replaced Circut Board

When you replace the entire board in a Zenith TV, you must make the adjustments to align the new chassis with the old picture tube. You must adjust the CRT bias and drives as well as the horizontal and vertical parameters. On the older boards there were controls on the main and CRT boards but on the newer boards the adjustments are made with the remote control after entering the service mode. Tune in the shopping channel QVC, set the color and contrast to minimum and lower the brightness until the picture is just visible. Set the CRT bias settings for a pure black and white image, then increase the brightness and contrast to get a very bright picture and if necessary adjust the drive settings so that the bright picture is pure black and white. Return the video settings to normal and then adjust the vertical and horizontal settings so that the info boxes on QVC are centered top, left and bottom. If you are not sure that you can do that right then have a qualified tech handle it for you.
