Hi, I've just got my new hdc hs700 camcorder few minutes ago. I made a test shot to play it on my telly but the playback function doesn't work. There is a dial on the right, it's in playback mode, but nothing happens on screen. Is the dial wrong or did I miss something?? Thanks for answer Regards, Andras

SOURCE: Sony TRV-19 Camcorder - Black screen in camera mode

Fixed it, at least temporarily I had the side off my trv250 examining it, especially the CCD connection. I had read the post about soldering a capacitor to pins 1 and 3 (from the left) on the bottom row. I didn't have the specific capacitor on hand, but I started touching some of the small ones I did have to those pins. I found that after I touched a 100uF, 10V cap to pins 1 and 3 the picture suddenly came back to life and stayed that way after removing the cap. I have no idea how long this will last, and I've set up the cam on a tripod in the livingroom with the LCD display facing me so I can monitor it. If you, like me, figure you have nothing else to lose, you might want to give this a try. Note: my camera was suffering from the green smeary horizontal lines problem, and wasn't completely black. I'm not sure if this makes a difference or not.

HD writer will not write to disc

I just used HDWriter today to copy a film I took from a new Panasonic HDC-HS250K to DVD. It took about 30 minutes to complete, and the movie was only 1 Gb; about 5-10 minutes of HD. I used a Memorex DVD+R that I happen to have from a couple years ago. The video looks very good played back on my PC or HD TV using a regular DVD player (not blue ray). I don't happen to have any other DVD except for the 2 sided which I hate to use for the short videos. So in looking to buy some more I'm concerned that DVD-R might not work so well. I've read some conflicting reviews about that. Anyway just wanted to let you know that the DVD+R worked fine.

Losing picture while playing back 8 mm (analog) tapes

Hi there. Mine did the exact same thing for a few uses, then my playback screen went blue. You can see the menu, but the counter does not advance. I believe you are headed for the same situation.

Ask "Rifaa" for a solution. I read another post where "Rifaa" answered that the problem is a dirty tracking head, and there is a simple do-it-yourself solution to clean it.

Good Luck,

Sony Camcorder playback problem

mechanical alignment! try to record for a minute and playback the result on another player/recorder, not on your camera, if the playback is not okay then your camera needs alignment, you need pro fix. You said that you've done manual cleaning already, maybe you dis aligned the mechanical parts accidentally, applying too much force on the mechanical parts of your small unit tends to bend, dislocate or move these parts out of alignment. defective videohead will never playback good video, and you said that it seems to correct only a few minutes of playback.
