No instalation cd 4850

This fix below will work for Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 8.1 guaranteed, the original software was for Windows XP only. HP have the necessary drivers and Vuescan is a third party scanner program, that is every bit as good as the OEM software, in fact I think it is better.
(1) Download and Install HP Scanjet 4850 Driver: setup_basic_4800_14-5.exe from http://www.hp-drivers-download.com/download/hp/setup_basic_4800_14-5.exe.html
(2) Download and Install Vuescan 64 bit: download from http://download.cnet.com/VueScan-64-bit/3000-12511_4-75328364.html

Run the software after downloading, it is the same software contained on your CD.

Note:this scanner does not have Vista drivers, but it works fine on XP.

I was weird how the original CD for this failed three times. So after a simple call I was given a website to go to and instructions on how to use it. In minutes it was up and running. Thank you for getting back to me and if you know someone who needs the same help the number I called was 310-687-5940. I went to support.microtek.com and used the download there to get my scanner back. Thanks again, Kelly

Physically uninstall the 4850. Now download and install "Revo uninstaller" (FREE). Use this tool to completely uninstall any and all software associated with the 4850. Next run system restore and restore your computer to a date prior to your original physical installation of the card. The computer should now re-start to it's condition before the 4850. Now you can begin a PROPER installation by first installing the SOFTWARE that came with the card and following the instructions to install the card afterward. Remember, Windows likes software FIRST.

P.S. If you want to run with the big dogs - carry a map.

Solution:

i) if you are trying install drivers from CD try to make sure that CD is in working or good condtion(i mean    no scratches, no spots, dots,...no breaks.....)

ii) if this CD came withur computer  and if it is too old..... then there is possibility of  loss of data on the       CD.

iii) try another Driver CD if you have it or download it from internet, if it is working then surely there is           some problem with ur old CD 

iv) or if you have Setup directly on your computer and you are installing from ur system rather than CD then they may be some file corruption(due to virus.....)
