I have an Hitachi 42 PMA400e Plasma Tv. The problem is that when I switch the unit on it gives me a picture for a brief second before going blank. This is happening on both the Video 1 & 2 channels. There is no audio either. I'm assuming the screen is fine as I do get a brief picture so i'm assuming it's a component that needs replacing. I'd be most grateful for any assistance. Many thanks Mat.

I also have this television, and it baffled me too. Apparently the 42PMA400E isn't so much a television, it's more of just a "display unit". It hasn't got any built-in channels (can't even connect an aerial into it) and hasn't got any speakers either. To use as a television, you need to connect a reciever (I use a DVD player, as I only use it for the Xbox) to it to display the video, and get some surround sound speakers to connect to the DVD player.
