Suction problem I have a Hoover Widepath Fold Away, 12 amp motor vacuum cleaner and the problem I am having is every time I vacuum, the vacuum gets clogged up with carpet. I am probably only able to do one stroke then it gets clogged and I have to stop and unclog it or it spits it out on the carpet. This is very frustrating and I don't get much vacuuming done. Please can you help me. Thank you. Gwen email is [email protected]

Does it have a reset button?

There is no reset button on this model. If the motor shut off it is due to the motor getting too hot. This can be caused by poor aire flow, usually afull bag or clogged filters. The vac is designed this way for safety.

I have a Hoover fold away and the floor cleaner doesn't work only the attachments are working.

The reason for this would most likely be a blockage in the bottom of the foot of the machine. could also be a bad belt. Check or change the belt and look for obstructions.

Brush on hoover wide path does not spin around.

remove the bottom cover and check the drive belt.if belt is ok then your brush motor could be bad.

After using my attachments I have a hard time getting suction when using upright again - how do I get the suction on my upright? It's a Hoover blue widepath Tempo~ thank you

It may be clogged underneath the vacuum where the roller is. Take the bottom plate off and look into the intake port. There may be some blocking the port.

How to remove attachment hose to unplug

The vacuum to the dirt cup, whether from the floor, or from the tools comes solely thru the hose. You need to check the hose for internal obstructions/blockage, from the open end all the way to the entry to the dirt cup. Here is the link to the Product Manual: http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/U5172900.pdf

I recall the hose connects to the back of the unit with a 1/4 turn lock. so try to turn the hose collar at that connection 1/4 turn counterclockwise, then pull it off. If any other qustions, let me know.

Hoover Empower Widepath Vacuum Doesn't ****

This model requires the lower end of the hose to be installed into the base unit to pick up the dirt. If it is properly installed, I would check the belt and also look for a blockage. The normal life span of a belt is about 9-12 months. your belt # 40201190 2 pk

Generic problem for all Vacuums
Hoover Vacuum Elite (Allergen Filtration) 12 Amps...
Posted by Maya B on Jun 04, 2008
I received this vacuum (Hoover Vacuum Elite/Allergen Filtration 12 Amp Motor) from a friend. After using it in a few rooms it started giving off this burnt odor and the motor starts to sound as if it's dying. What is wrong with it and how can I fix it? If I need to change a part, which one is it and where do I get it from?
I love the suction in this vacuum even though it can be very loud when the attachments are being used. You can email me at [email protected] Thanks very much! -Maya

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Vacuum Elite/Allergen Filtration 12 Amp Motor. It certainly sounds like a motor that is on its way to going out or burning out – you can replace the motor and you can get the part from your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area, either new or used to save money, or you can contact the cust serv dept @ Hoover. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
