Depending on the amount of speaker that you have, Alpine recommends that you use anywhere from .85 cubic feet to 1.25 cubic feet per subwoofer. This choice will be reflected by the sound of your subwoofers. If you choose to use .85 cubic feet per subwoofer, you will get a tight sound without excessive cone excursion.
However, if you decide to use 1.25 cubic feet per subwoofer, your subwoofers will hit lower notes and be able to handle more power.
These are factors that you, as a listener, will have to bear in mind when choosing a subwoofer enclosure. Regardless, enjoy your speakers!

What size box will give me the best sound for a 10" Kicker C 104?

If going sealed I would aim somewhere in the 1.5 to 2.0cuft area. That sub can go in a 1.0 cu ft box to 2.4 depending on the room you he the bigger is usually better for sound quality

I want to build a box for my kappa subs and i need to know what specs would make them sound great. they are goin in my 97 chevy ext cab truck. the box is going to be my back seat also

http://manuals.harman.com/INF/CAR/Boxes%20and%20Parameters/1001dvc.pdf

Not knowing your musical preference, take a look at this spec sheet and pick the sound you'd most like. The bandpass design usually gives the most SPL, but a larger box is probably deeper while still having good volume. Some audio purists say a sealed box sounds the best, subjectively, but the SPL isn't as great.

I need to know the demensions for 10 inch subs

almost any 10 will use .75 cubic feet up to 1.25 cu ft. thats about the size of a milk crate give or take. a sealed box will give you the cleanest tightest bass. A ported box will be louder but also larger at the cost of decreased power handling ability and sound quality. If your subs are designed for small enclosures use a sealed box around .75 to 1.00 cu ft.

I have 2 12 inch kickers and have a solid box in my mustang. would it sound better if it was ported?

Kicker speakers always require very large boxes (you're looking at 12 cubic feet for both), when ported. Ported boxes are very sensitive to box size, port tuning etc, so it's probably best to leave it sealed, as they are far more leniant, and sealed boxes are usually 1/2 size of ported boxes. You would get less bass when ported than with sealed (because ported boxes must be bigger to match the sealed ones).

If you wish to experiment with the bass response of speakers, download winISD, and put your speakers in, see what size boxes give you what.

Pioneer box

Hi,

Thanks for using fixya!

I have had the same problem that you are having right now. I basically don't know how to start making my own sub box. Well, I chose the Bass-reflex type Box. This the best. Check this link out for a detailed overview of sub box making. http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1789/build-your-own-10-inch-subwoofer/

Have a great day.

What to do

well i don't know your budget, but if that's not really and issue, right now at best buy, alpine type E, 10" subs, peak is 750w and rms is 250w, each is 129.99. Alpine type R, 10" subs, peak is 1500w and rms is 500w, each is 199.99. These are the best subs i found at best buy. You could sell your current subwoofers and purchase those, and you'd save space and still get the lows you want. Goodluck
