Panny tv problem

It just clicks like if you shut off the tv with the remote.

when the tv was working, you would turn it on, volume would come on then in about 2 seconds the picture would show up. Now it turns on, can hear the sound, then normally when the picture would come on, it shuts off. Seems like some kind of protection mode, for lack of a better term.

I am not sure what a flyback transformer is, could you elaborate?

thanks,
Brew

I did a hard reset on my tv Panasonic TC-P42X5 to come back on after a power outage. It worked! But NO VOLUME! I can't get volume to work. There is no sound, just picture.

Turn it off and wait about three days and see what happens. There were quite a few pannys sold a few years ago around 2011 where if the power was interrupted like that , they would not work normally until about three days later. Crazy, I know. But ...................

Volume control does not work using the TV's remote, the cable remote or the actual volume control button on the front of the set - the volume that comes out of the TV's speakers is constant - about 33% of...

SO YOU JUST GOT A NEW TV ...BUT...THE VOLUME CONTROL IS NOT WORKING FROM YOUR CABLE BOX.

EASY! BRING UP THE IMAGE OF YOUR REMOTE FOR
YOUR CABLE (MORE THAN LIKELY, IT'S A UNIVERSAL).

CLICK ON THE REMOTE FOR INSTRUCTIONS FOR VOLUME LOCK.

IF IT'S A UNIVERSAL REMOTE, CLICK SETUP (TWO BLINKING LIGHTS) TYPE 993, AND HIT CABLE BUTTON.

VOILA! YOU CAN NOW CONTROL VOLUME FROM YOUR CABLE REMOTE!

Very little volume, not very loud at highest

On the TV-use your finger to adjust the volume level, about midway, then use the remote to shut off the tv, then turn on tv with remote. Volume level should be better! If still not loud enough...using your finger on the tv...turn up volume & repeat remote steps.

Dynex remote sticks on channels and does not always lower volume

I think you'll find that the tv is at fault. I, unfortunately bought one of these **** things as well. If you try to turn the channel, or volume, at the tv itself, you'll find that it won't work either. Seems to happen when switching between HD and regular programming a lot, but can happen at any time. You get what you ( and I ) paid for....

ake a try-- the below procedure will reset your player and make your player region free......

The region free hack procedure:

* Login to the region free hack account (using Harmony client software)
* Update your remote (this will wipe out existing setup)
* Select the only device on the remote (the Panny device with the hack)
* Switch your player on without a disc in the tray
* Make sure the Panny is in DVD mode (not TV or Blu-ray - this is a DVD player hack!)
* Point the remote at the player and press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 in that order
* The player should then reset and be region free, if not, try the process again.

Panasonic plasma vieta

I just bought a Panasonic TH-42PZ800U and had the same problem. 10 blinks and the TV would not start. Then after some trial and error I solved the problem!

Here is my (apparent) observation and solution:
I had only one input into the TV, which was my HTPC connected via a DVI-to-HDMI cable plugged into the Panny's HDMI 1 slot. *IF* the HTPC was already on, then the Panny would have the blink of death. *BUT* if the HTPC was off, the Panny booted fine (assuming I cleared the blink of death first by powering off the HTPC, unplugging the TV, and replugging the TV back in with the HTPC still off).

My solution was to move the HDMI cable from slot 1 to slot 3. After making this one change, everything worked as it should. No more 10 blinks of death. I could even leave the HTPC on and turn on the TV last, and it still worked. Tried this 10 times, worked 10 times.

I don't know if this will solve other people's problems, but I hope it at least provides some clues. I wonder if this is a fundamental circuit design flaw on the part of Panasonic, rather than a "bad batch of parts" problem.
