Hi,

Have you checked the jumper settings of your hard drive. If you are running it on the same IDE cable as your master drive then you need to set up your Hitachi's jumpers as a 'slave' drive.
More often than not there are diagrams on the hard drive sticker to explain this configuration.
If these settings are as they should be and your system is still not detecting the drive make sure the hard drive is spinning by listening for a sound coming from it. If this is fine then chances are good that your drive has blown and not worth repairing.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Best wishes,
Graemevm

Do I create folders on my mermory stick to download my music, pictures adn ringtones?

Actually you dont have to, the Phone creates these folders automatically, all you have to do is copy your music to them. But strangely enough your music and Pictures dont have to go in the music and pictures folder, you can place them where ever you wish. Just in case you need to create folders manually you can use the procedure outlined below. However there isnt any need too, the phone should create these folders automatically once your format your memory card (view your phones manual for details on doing this). But remember you can put the files anywhere the folders are just there for sorting sake..

connect the memory card to your computer via a port or some device,,(like cellular phone or camera)

1.) when windows read the card, click cancel to close off the window
2.) click start / my computer
3.) double click on your memory card (it shows up as a removable device)
4.) right click on any empty spot and (left click new and left click folder)
5.) type the name for your folder

click the - sign to minimize the window

1.) browser to the folder where you have your music or pictures in
2.) select the files you want to put on memory card (hold ctrl and click multiple files)
3.) hold ctrl and press c (Ctrl + C) to copy the files
4.) click on your memory card window to the button of the screen to open it up
5.) right click in any empty space then click paste.

your files will now be copied to the folder you created on your memory card. Repeat as needed to create more folders and copy more files.

Nothing on my Mp3

Try formatting from the player and not from the computer.

Not enough space for music db. Please free 6 MB.

If you have formatted there is no music on the player. You will have to re-sync any the music. Set the USB mode to MTP, then Use Windows Media Player 10 or higher to sync player.

Question about hard drives setups

1. No you do not put the operating system on the slave drive. It will just appear as an empty drive that you can store data on.
2. No, just copying all the files over will not make the slave drive a bootable windows drive unless you use a special program that actually clones the drive. Yes, all the files will be there but it doesn't have the master boot record which tells the computer how to boot the drive; in other words the drive would not be bootable.

Thanks and please take a moment to give this answer a rating of fixya. Thanks :c)

Wont download all music

first, make sure it isnt full. if you ripped music off a cd, make sure that they were converted to mp3, otherwise it will take a larger amout of space on ur element player. Also, make sure that you didnt put any movies or anything like that on ur mp3, they may not have worked, but they will still be on there if they have not been deleted. Hopefully this has helped <(^.^)>

Mixmax froze

The memory may be corrupt and it can't read the music files correctly. Open your My Computer icon and plug the player into your computer. You should see a new removable disk called Mix Max appear. Right click on the disk and choose Format from the pop up menu. At the Format window make sure that the File System is set to FAT32 and click Start. At the next window click OK to proceed. You'll then need to add the songs back to your player but it should correct the problem. When adding the songs to the player again make sure that you leave at least 4 megabytes of space available so it can create the library file.
