It's possible the transformer is bad, but maybe a primary fuse or switch is out on the 13kV side. Check the secondary connections into the delta at the transformer. Good luck!

How to measure Voltage in Transforme for Fitness Treadmill

Transformer Test Procedure:1). Make sure that transformer wire connections (CON1) to the drive board are secured. Turn unit on.2). Put multimeter to the AC voltage setting. Insert meter probes into the transformer primary (red)wires as shown. Normal reading: 110V. This shows that there is power to the transformer.3). Test transformer output by probing on secondary (output) wires: black and black, white and white, orange and orange, yellow and yellow

Transformer Test Results :1). If there is no voltage across the primary (red) wires, inspect F1 fuse on the drive board and power to the drive board. 2). If there is voltage across primary wires but none across secondary wires, the transformer is bad.Replace it.

Transformer Wire Colors Normal Voltage Value:
Red and Red 110 VAC.
Black and Black 11-13 VAC
White and White 11-13 VAC
Orange and Orange 27-29 VAC
Yellow and Yellow 10-12 VAC

3phase to 1phase transformer

when your dealing with a high leg as long as your using two phase wires it is balanced. any two legs will give you 240 volts a.c.

I am looking at a 480v fed chiller. It seems to be wired so they can also drive a 120v pump from the same 480v feed. Is this possible?

From what I found, 480 volt, 3-phase is 480 volts from leg to leg.
It is also 277 volts from each leg to neutral.
One can use a step down transformer to reduce the 480, 3-phase to 208 v, 3-phase and then each leg of the transformed voltage would be 120 volts to neutral. Try to locate the transformer in or near the chiller control cabinet.

How can i get single phase power from my 3 phase generator

I have not wire this myself
Wiki says under heading of single-phase:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-phase_electric_power
Single-phase loads may be connected to a three-phase system in two ways. A load may be connected across two of the three phase conductors or a load can be connected from a live phase conductor to the system neutral. Single-phase loads should be distributed evenly between the phases of the three-phase system for efficient use of the supply transformer and supply conductors. Where the line-to-neutral voltage is a standard utilization voltage (for example in a 230 V/400 V system), individual single-phase utility customers or loads may each be connected to a different phase of the supply. Where the line-to-neutral voltage is not a common utilization voltage, for example in a 347/600 V system, single-phase loads must be supplied by individual step-down transformers.

So it sounds like you take 2 legs of the 3-phase.
or
Take one leg of the 3-phase and connect to neutral ... neutral could be a ground rod.

I would put a meter on that circuit before hooking up my power saw.

I am installing a brand new nordyne furance I am not getting power to the 24v transformer the 240 wires going to the transformer are connected to the same leg. What leg is the wires suppose to be connected...

The have to be connected to both legs of the 240 volts, one wire on each leg. You have to have 240 volts going to the high voltage side of transformer.

The picture on My RCA F36650 flashes off and on after it warms up

These units have a reputation of loose solder joints in the horizontal/high voltage circuit. As this is a dangerous circuit be carefull if trying to repair it yourself. Always unplug before attempting a repair. Start by soldering the horizontal driver transformer. This is a small four pin transformer just off of the base of the horizontal output transistor. Solder these four pins and work your way soldering everything up to the horizontal output. While you are there be looking all over the board for little burnt places at solder joints. Next, work your way from the collector of the horizontal output to the high voltage transformer. Remember also to solder both legs of all components that you come across. Solder all the legs of the high voltage transformer. I hope this helps and thanks for using fixya. I am here to help.

Need wiring diagram for a carrier 383kav11048075? im replacing the icm281 control module. gas furnace

There should be a wiring diagram on the panel of the furnace. In the box of the icm 281 is step by step instructions.

Maybe this will help

Take notes on your low voltage wires from the thermostat and condenser. W Y R C G. Write down what color wires go to above terminals.

On your high voltage wiring,
Take the black wire from the transformer and put it on PR-1.
Take the white wire from the transformer and put it on PR-2
Take the black power wire from the panel interlock switch and connect it to L1
Take the white neutral power wire and connect it to L2
Take the black fan motor wire and connect it to HI
Take the red fan motor wire and connect it to LO
Take the white fan motor wire and connect it to COM
Then reconnect your low voltage terminal wires to W Y R C G.

Thats it.

TAYLOR 632-33 ICE CREAM MAKER

If you are wiring a Taylor machine to three phase power and you have a "wild leg" or "high leg" you must place the high voltage leg on L3. This will keep the higher voltage out of the control circuits of the machine. To clarify what a high leg is, it is created in three phase applications where a certain type of transformer is used. It creates two normal power legs, 110-120 and one leg that is only useful with another leg of power. If measured to nuetral or ground a wild leg will measure considerebly higher than the other legs. Hope this is helpful
