I have a Polaroid a800 Digital Camera. The photo's I take come out grainy.... almost pixelated. What am I doing wrong? It's the first camera I've had and I'm disapointed. My cell phone camera is bad, but the photo's are actually coming out better than my a800.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
Remove the memory card from the camera, go into menu and locate "format" next! follow the prompt to erase all pictures from the internal memory, "even one photo will cause problems".
When this is completed install the memory card back in the camera for normal operation, if this fails return the camera to the store for an exchange.
I don't know the particular setup of this model, but some of my Polaroid a800 cameras
actually have 2 triggers--1 main trigger which sets off the camera and
flash, and then a smaller trigger just around the main trigger that only
sets off the camera--no flash. So, look at the trigger and see if
there's a smaller trigger (that looks like part of the main release..
This happened with mine too. Mine is an a800 polaroid digital camera. i had some AAA batteries from an old remote control and they didnt have any juice left in them after 5 minutes. So i kept trying different AAA batteries and it wont even turn on!
The grainy effect has to do do with the ISO setting, try adjusting that. A higher ISO is generally better for darker conditions. I have noticed that this camera frequently takes grainy images.
