Make sure that the dvd-drive is getting enough power test all leads that are attached to the dvd burner including electical extensions and make sure they have a secure connection or just replace them there might be bad/faulty or
your drivers may have been corrupted or you might have a virus run your antivrus program
you might have to physically unplug the leads for this dvd drive then plug them back in or
you might have to uninstall then reinstall your DVD/CD or uninstall the driver then reinstall for this device
control panel admistrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd dvd rom drives right click you can you can update driver, roll back driver,or
select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall

if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer
Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

My computer dvd wont open

Look on the front of the tray where the eject button is There should be a small round hole, this is for ejecting a stuck disk. Just open out a paper clip and insert in to the hole and press until the tray opens.

My pc drive wont open Help!!!

Is the cd/dvd? Look carefully on the front, you'll see a tiny hole just below the Tray (usually beside or above the eject button), take a straightened paper clip or a long needle and push inside the hole while you press the eject button, push it inside until it ejects out.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Trunk / rear lid won't open

You can try this I think the latch is just slightly missaligned.Did you put something in the trunk and push down on the trunk?Try to push down hard on the trunk where the latch is a few times while pressing the remote. If this works and it opens look for marks on the latch indicating rubing, file down, spray with WD 40.Good Luck.

Wondering if anyone is any good with lite on shm 165 drives? Been trying to figure out why it wont open the disk tray. No disk inside, pressing the button makes an audible clunk noise. Pushing the pin...

Problem found on mine: tray opening mechanism is belt driven, while others are gear driven, belt tends to stretch with time and slips on motor pulley, gears do not. Just cheap built. Remedy= Belt can be removed from front with open tray, soaked in rubber rejuvenation liquid for few seconds, cleaned and dried, re- installed on pulley.
It works now, but for how long, I have no idea.

Mintek 1050 dvd player

Sounds like something may be stuck inside the unit. If there is no warranty left, UNPLUG the device from the mains, undo the 2 or 4 screws on the sides of the unit, lift off the lid and just look to see if there is a foreign object inside or a DVD,(if at some point one of the kids put 2 Discs in and closed it, one of them could have got pushed over the top of the drive and got jammed), remove it and put the lid back on. Just make sure you don't touch or fiddle with any thing inside as not to damage it further.
Another possibility is that something is stuck to laser lens which you will only be able to see if you take the lid off.
DANGER WARNING do not take the lid off in the same room as the kids, or they WILL do it themselves, when you are not about.
