Make sure that when inserting the 9 volt battery that those red & black wires are not somehow pinched, twisted or stretched. I just fixed mine... The battery terminal was crushing one of the wires and preventing the battery to supply power to the keypad. I found it out by NOT securing the battery case door and my opener worked fine. Securing the battery case door with the screw and thightening, my opener DID NOT WORK. It was that simploe of a FIX!

Your "remote" is a wireless keypad. Makes a difference.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter. Make sure the battery is good first.

If the keypad is older than April 2005 it will not work with your new opener. The radio frequency was changed.

You can purchase a universal remote that works with all sets at any Walmart, Target, Sears, Best Buy, Big Lots, Radio Shak ect. They come with instructions on how to program the remote to work with your model television set. Universal remotes also control DVD players, VCR's, Cable TV ect.

The conversion kit you purchased from Sears will work with any door opener and has the latest security feature but the bad news is your keypad will not work with it. If you want a keypad you must make sure it is 315 mhz and Security +. It would be Sears latest model.

I have a sears model # 139.655000. The remotes have 9 dip switches. I need the transmission frequency so I can match up the right replacement remote.

Your opener is very old and I'm positive you can no longer get the remotes. You might look into one of these.

wow nutone is a dying bred but what you have is a outside radio meaning that its a sear set up to your opener you should be able to take your remote down to sears and they can match it up for you.
