CD-ROM drive isn't receiving power.

Try a different power connector, if that doesn't work then it's time for a new cd-rom drive.

Pavilion 533w cannot read dvd from DVD ROM drive but CAN read CDs. A restore of Windows XP was performed using HP's non-destructive recovery option.

The combo uses two lasers - one for the dvd and the other for the cd. If the unit works perfectly on cd and at all on dvd then the dvd laser has died and the entire unit with it, it can't be fixed. Buy a new dvd writer and junk the old one.

I have an HP pavilion 533w ,old computer, wouldn't work, but i took out this memory card (512mb-ddr pc333) it started working. Now the computer runs slow, how do I reinstall memory card so that everything...

You can go ahead and do that but if the computer stops working again it means the memory is bad. You need to purcahse another memorycard for the better computer performance.

Or if you still have computer warranty call the manufacturer and ask them to replace your memory card.

HP Pavilion 533w on hard boot finds the HDD on softboot (restart) it does not.

Check to see if you're running the latest bios revision. It's on HP's support page for your model.
