Hi, It seems lamp/ bulb popped again, check lamp inside tv. If tv does not show red blinking light then it would be lamp that knocked off, replace lamp in tv to fix its problem, please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv. Let me know if you have additional question. Thanks.

All Sony sets have a duplicate label or labels inside the set; this would require unplugging the set and removing the back.
Older projection sets have for the most part model numbers beginning with KP (like KP 57ws500) and the newer ones have KDF etc.
If the white label on the back cannot be read you will have to open set and look for duplicate labels inside----much like cars where the vin number is in several places.
Blue blotches spreading over the screen are failure of the optical block
contact Sony to see if you are eligable for a free repair.

Don't bedeterred by the dating of this announcement, it is a manufacturing fault and they have been pr5etty good to a lot of people with the same problem.
This TV is known for issues with the optical block(light engine) The discoloration is coming from the LCD panels in the light engine that have been damaged by the intense heat produced by the lamp. There is a class action lawsuit settlement between Sony and the New York state attorney general's office. Sony agreed to cover these problems going back 4 model years. if you had to pay for the repairs on this TV, you could expect to pay more than $1000 to replace the light engine. Call Sony customer relations at 1-800-222-SONY
and tell them you want this covered per the agreement I mentioned.
TV screen dead symptom..I need info about Sound, and standby light at TV front. Is there sound comes from TV? does standby light lit when switch on TV?
