Hello,

Check your Cd-rw for bent pins or dirty connections. If its not that then you can try the drive in another computer (if you have one) and see if it works. If not then you probley need a new drive. Check www.newegg.com for new drives. Hope that helps.

My 6750a won't read disks. I can hear the drive starting to spin, then it gives out after ~.5 sec. it tries to spin again, but the same thing happens. after about 6 tries, it gives up and wont run...

You can here it spinning because it is still working however the lense of your DVD burner might be faulty at this point. Try to use a different CD or DVD for you to see it it will be read by your Burner if not the problem is the lense.

Thanks for using Fixya

Ejecting some dvds after about 30 sec.

Hello,
The Mac can read DVDs, but not all of them: you will see supported DVDs  in the Apple menu - About this mac - More Info - Under "Hardware", select "Disc Burning". You should see the CD/DVD writing capabilities.
For my mac it's
-R, -RW, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW

There is more solutions, if just doesn't read can be dust on laser reader of old firmware, if not running rotation and not blinking green light 2-3 sec and tryning to read CD you have to buy new one.
