1993 Mercury Villager - Recently replace battery, Alterator is fine. It starts up good but after running for 15 mins plus it starts to Idle differently and when I take foot off the gas to make turns or stop at lights, it stalls out on me...and is very difficult to start back up again. I've taken it a garage, stated they can't help me unless it's actually doing it at the time. I would appreciate any feed back. Also I noticed when ever I turn the heat up..I start smelling exhaust inside my van...(no ones been able to figure that one out either)

Did you remove the battery or did it go flat. Reset security and immobilizer. Does the battery have 12.2 volts.

Distributor bad. Repalce with Rich Porter NS 60 on eBya or Amazon. Known issue.

What do you mean by 'jumps time' like engine timing? As in cam sensor? Crank position sensor?
Do you have any trouble codes? If so what are they?

You need to replace your distributor. There has been many problems with these. I had the same problem with my 1993 villager and had tried many different things and none worked. I went to a junk yard and got a used distributor and now it runs fine. I would try this before anything alse.
