These, powerful, solid, rather basic old machines still serve a niche that no reasonably priced modern machines fill...Working condition is not mentioned, but similar late 60's early 70's machines in good working order bring $150-250 on eBay... and even those that need some help do sell for quite a bit more than the other fellow quoted

Its worth what you would get at a garage sale, about 20-40 dollars.

I need a manual for a Kenmore sewing machine model # 158.12410

Sears carries manuals for most Kenmore machines. Even if they may not have your exact model, machines operate much the same, so a manual for a similar model would be helpful.

FWIW, my first sewing machine was a model similar to yours. A real keeper--wish I would have kept mine. However, your machine, being mechanical, does require frequent cleaning and oiling. These good old machines are often forgotten, but it would be well worth your time to give it some TLC to keep it running smoothly.

Looking for a users manual for a Sears Kenmore sewing machine model 158.120, not a parts manual.

I would first try Google and ask for service manual for your model. A close model match may do the trick as usually very little variation in same model series. Also, if you locate a Sears service center nearby, they may be able to help you find or instruct you in what you need . Good hunting

I read on internet different sewing machine model part can interchange with one another does anyone know what model interchanges with Kenmore 8 Stitch Sewing Machine Model 158 13450 and does anyone know...

A sewing machine technician may be able to help determine who actually made the machine. The problem is, Sears negotiated with various companies to make Kenmore products and Sears frequently changed manufacturers. I believe Janome made some Kenmore sewing machines but during what period and for how long is questionable.

You can try searching for:

Make Model parts
and see what comes up.

How old is my sears Kenmore sensor sew 70 model# 3851950180? Iwould like to know if it can be repaired

Almost any machine CAN be repaired, but it may not be worth the money to get it repaired and with older machines finding parts can be a real problem.

If you call Sears and tell them the model and serial number they should be able to tell you the age of the machine, and whether or not they are still willing to repair a machine like it. They may not have parts though.. sometimes independent repair shops are a better bet. Ebay is often a good source for old machine parts too.

I have an older model Kenmore Sewing machine model # 158 12310. I was told by a local sewing machine repair business that it was not worth the money to have it cleaned and oiled. The machine works fine.I ...

Do you have your owners manual? If not, go to Sears parts direct and buy one. This will tell you where to put the oil. Now you probably will want to get under the throat plate, just use a small stubby screwdriver and take off the throat plate, usually you find something that looks like felt and thread. There is not felt, so clean that little bugger out. Sometimes you can find tips on the internet for lubricating and cleaning. I think the repair person was not very knowledgeable to say that, the older machines made better than anything today. Take care of it, I still have my first sewing machine, an Old Kenmore and it is my work horse, It will sew anything that my new expensive machines cannot handle.

Need manual: Kenmore sewing machine 158.9

Those books are long since out of print. Try contacting sewing machine stores who stock old instruction books. Many shops do this. Or try eBay.
