Your monitor is not receiving a signal from the computer.

First try the monitor on another computer and/or try a different monitor on this computer. If the monitor continues to have a problem, then either replace it or have it repaired. If a different monitor does not have the same problem when hooked up to this computer, then once again the monitor is bad.

If a different monitor has the same problem, then try the next few steps.

Turn off your computer, wait 5 minutes. Then remove your video card. Wait 5 more minutes (video cards take longer to drain residual charges than most other components) and then install the video card again.

Try borrowing another working video card and connect it to your sstem after removiing the current one. If you can see the text during the boot process when you turn on your computer, then your video card is bad and needs to be replaced.

If none of the above steps works, you may have a problem with a different component in your system. While off and unplugged, disconnect all expansion cards (RAM memory too) and drives with the exception of your video card and then attempt to boot your computer. if you are able to see the tex during the boot process, then some other component is bad; replace them one at a time after shutting down and unplugging your system until the problem comes back. That will be your bad part that needs to be replaced.

FPD1975W TFT LCD monitor my monitor blinks a blue power light and flsahis a white screen but it does not turn on ?

Hello,

A flashing power light indicates a failure of the power supply, this will also cause the white screen. Here is a link to a page showing what parts need to be replaced to repair the power supply board and get your monitor back running again.

Possibly conflicting with something or the card has failed or it could be a driver issue try & update the drivers if this doesn't work check in device manager if there is a yellow exclamation mark then there is a conflict somewhere, if driver update doesn't work & no conflicts are found your card has failed & will need to be replaced.

The monitor (Gateway FPD1975W) turns itself off after a couple of seconds. I have tried rebooting a number of times - same problem. When I turn the monitor off and then on again it works for a second or...

This sounds like the monitors power supply is failing. (if the monitor is truly right off) Use a flashlight to verify the back-light is not just the culprit. If you can see faint image in the monitor with the flashlight, then this would point tothe LCD inverter is failing. Its most likely the power supply board within the monitor itself. Typically It takes 3 35v 470uf capacitors to fix and a little patience to get apart. Do a bit of googling on "replacing the caps in a FPD1975W" and youll see what i mean. Cheers.

Computer monitor wont turn on when you hold the power button a small orange light turns on. What is wrong?!

CONNECT THE MONITOR DIRECTLY TO THE WALL OUTLET
CHECK WHETHER YOU GET CHECK AUDI SIGNAL OR NOT OR ANY MESSAGE---HTEN CHECK FOR THE CABLE---IF STILL THE ISSUE PERSISTS CHECK IT WITH A DIFFERENT CABLE---
THEN CONNECT IT TO THE COMPUTER MAKE IT SURE THE COMPUTER IS TURNED ON AND THE POWER IS GIVEN TO THE MONITOR AS WELL----CHECK THE COMPUTER WITH ANOTHER MONITOR---IF THE OTHER MONITOR IS WORKING FINE THEN CONNECT YOUR MONITOR TURN IT ON AND THEN FLASH A FLASH LIGHT OR TORCH LIGHT AND THEN SEE IF YOU CAN SEE A DISPLAY INSIDE..
WHILE CHECKING FOR ALL THESE STEPS YOUR ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED IF NOT TYOU GOTTA CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER FOR A FAULTY MONTIOR---

STEPS IN BRIEF:
DO A MONITOR SELF TEST
CHECK FOR THE LIGHTS
CHECK FOR THE CABLE
CHECK FOR THE PHYSICAL SIGNAL
PUT THE MONTIOR ON A DIFFERENT COMPUTER AND CHECK
CONNECT THE COMPUTER WITH A DIFFERENT MONITOR AND CHECK
FLASH A FLASH LIGHT AS A LAST STEP TO SEE A DISPLAY
IF THE ISSUE IS NOT RESLOVED THE MONITOR IS FAULTY..
HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!

Fpd1975w display flashes on and off

what resolution are you setting your screen to? if you are setting it too high or to a resolution/frequency that your monitor doesn't support, it will do this. Try setting it to 800 x 600 w/ 32 bit color and a frequency of 60Hz. If you do this and the monitor still blinks, you may just have a bad DVI cable.

Hey,

no it wont. Unless its a special laptop version. hard to find. and 9800 pro is a old card already.

depends on your laptop model the video card can't be easily replaced. some have a integrated that can't be replaced at all and some have a removeable.

Ati radeon 9800 error message on bootup

the error means that you do not have a power cod connected on the card or the power supplied by the PS is not enough for the card to run.

Remove power from the parts in the PC that you are not using anymore and try to reinstall the card.

worst case is getting another power supply about 600 watts

Swap 9800 Pro for 9700 Pro

You must uninstall the current driver and reinstall the driver for the 9800 Pro first:
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
Power supply recommended is 300watt for each, so that is not a factor. It would have to be a driver conflict.
