I am 65 yrs old and not computer or printer literate, but I'm not stupid and I'm very frustrated. The black and color ink show low when I go into the printer screen, but they are brand new. Paper goes throuh the printer ok, but the lettering is so light, I cannot see or read it. No one can. The copy light automatically is on when I turn on the power. Is this the problem? Please help me!!!!! Or, better still, please give me a toll free telephone number to call to speak to a Real person!! Thank you in advance for your assistance. I Yes, yesterday it printed fine today the black is printing grey, like she/he said to dim to read. I knew the black ink was low so I went ahead after the first dim printing and loaded a new cartridge and it is still dim. I need document printed by Thursday. Had the problems several months ago and you ended up sending me a new print head. I purchased it on July 7, 2007. I have really enjoyed the printer but it is now becoming a problem. I do not like to waste my time on problems that should not be. So what is the problem and is it being corrected or do I need to buy another brand of printer?
You'll need another printhead and before you say this is a terrible inconvenience remember that with any other printer you replace the printhead with every new ink cartridge. Printheads aren't supposed to last a long time and depending on the amount of printing, they really aren't even supposed to last a long time.
Try these steps. Open the printer, remove the ink and remove the printhead (See User's guide). Reseat the printhead and the ink cartridges. The printer will come up with an error message that requires calibration. Do the calibration and scan the sheet that prints right after by pushing the start button. In the menu options, clean the printhead. Do one basic and one deep. Print a demo sheet (another menu option) to see if the quality has gotten better. If it has not call Kodak AiO Tech support. You will need a replacement printhead.

Thanks for the information. I contacted Kodak Tech support and they are sending me a replacement printhead. The other printers I have had, I never had to replace the printer but the printer only lasted a year or two then quit all together.
