Some keys on the key pad of my Nokia 3230 are not working. Do I need to upgrade the firmwar?
if ur phone is older than 2 years, then some keys may fail due to press them frequently,,,,,,for playing games(2,4,6,8) etc......
Then repair it with technician......
U may also try software updater.........

Friend this is software error problem means u r software does not match u r phone software
so upgrade u r phone and download u r phone software through internet from www.nokia.com
download u r phone version software and then restart u r pc and then run the soft ware and the next u know every thing and at the last after connect upgrade u r phone( firmware) first

Flash my nokia 3230
first give "restore factory settings" you will asked for the "security code" enter that .. after "restore factory settings" you restart the phone without memory card ...

connect the mobile to pc by using datacable

if you still face the problem after the " restore factory settings" then
you can upgrade the firmware by downloading the "nokia software updater" from the nokia site given below it is free

first you must download that application to pc and then you must the cell to pc and then you can upgrade the firmware of your cell ...

NOTE:never disconnect or power off during the firmware update this willdamage your cell phone completely and after that even if you visit thenokia also they cant help you with that , so while doing that do itcarefully ..

How to Flash nokia3230 phone Rom and update its software?
hi vjvinayak,
according to maklean, may be it not be possible to upgrade firmware by ourselves. But, damnly it is not necessary to buy 3rd party flashers because it can be done by ourselves easily also.
Process for it is :
1) if u want to save ur data, then backup it 1st in ur MMC.
2) turn off the phone.
3) press and hold 3 buttons ( green dial button + * + 3 keypad ) at once and turn on the phone.
4) hold those buttons until formatting screen appears.
5) when it is completed, phone is to be restarted.
6) and my work is finished.

I guarantee u that this method will flash ur phone rom.
If u like this method, send me feedback. I will help u in other cases also. I have a large database of codes or tricks to use in mobile phones.

Which version of firmware did u try? Is it 3.0510.0? If you haven't tried then try installing this.From what I have heard this doesn't have anything extraordinary but its good enough to keep your phone to running smoothly!
