DELL XPS M1330 Display backlight not working?? My XPS M1330 is working fine except for the backlight on the display. I have checked the display windows, system, and the brightness control without any results. I can see the LCD desktop display but there is no light from behind. If I us the Fn key and the up/down arrows I see the screen Brightness window pop on and the indicator moves up and down the bar but the screen does not adjust at all. Can anyone offer some advise. Thanks

SOURCE: Keys dont work.alternative way to change brightness?

Yes you can go into your display properties and look in the settings tab and look for advanced click that and open color tab or the overlay tab, color tab should get your brightness turned up, And if you can't see you can go into your bios and adjust your brightness from there and get it back to where you can see it if you can't write me back here so we can try another method. Ok I hope that helps you out somewhat, Oh yeah you can also hook up an external key board into your usb connections and you should be able to work everything from that too.

SOURCE: led backlight on display for m1330 xps dell

This model laptop uses a CCFL lamp for the backlight, it does not use LEDs for backlighting.
The CCFL lamp is attached to an inverter which supplies high voltage to this lamp.
For details on how to install and or replace CCFL lamps go to
www.lcdparts.net for information and parts.

I assume you are not replacing the whole LCD screen.

SOURCE: My laptop's brightness doesn't work. It's at its lowest.

Ok, I had this problem too. Go into start - all programs - samsung - Easy Display Manager, then start Easy Display Manager. Try your function key and brightness and it should work. If you cant find easy display manage this way, type it into your search and start it this way. I have mine on my shortcut menu and start it every time I re-boot now.

If none of this works, just reinstall the program from here.

You need to check the device manager for any "!" symbols. They are most likely there for your audio and video drivers. This means that the current drivers installed are not compatible. See below for the correct drivers.

The sreen of my DELL XPS M1330 suddenly does not lght up!

It can be either the display is dead or it is a loose connection. If you are still covered by warranty then I would suggest you to contact the dell technical support. They will replace the part for you.
However if you don't have a warranty then you can buy this part from dell online store (the display) and you can fix it on your own - http://ahwee.com/how-to-disassemble-laptop-dell-xps-m1330 follow the instructions here to dismantle your laptop and refix it with the new parts. If you find any troubles doing so; please let me know; I will help you further.

Dell xps m 1330 starts fine but goes ...

Boot into Safe Mode and change the video resolution to the lowest resolution supported. Reboot the machine normally. The problem should have disappeared. From here you can readjust your display resolution to any higher resolution supported by the system if you wish.

Dim Screen when Power is Unpluged

If you see a very dim image or black screen or flicking image on the LCD screen it means you have a backlight problem.

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.
