My wife underwire from her bra is stuck on the out side of the drum. How do I get it out?
My bra wire has gone through the tub and stuck inside. The machine is still working but how do I get the wire out? I have tried the release hose of the maintenence procedure, but the wire is behind the tub/drum which I need help how to access. The washer is Electrolux front loading model.
Disconnect from electricity. take back panel off.you will see heater at bottom of tub held in by 1 10mm nut.disconnect wires to it. loosen this nut and pull heater out - you may have to help it with a screwdriver. you can then see into the gap between tub and drum and fish for the bra wire. tell her not to wear bras with wires!!
I had the same issue and this worked, thanks. It is a bit tricky to get the heater back in as you need to work the seal back. I used the socket with extension on the 10mm nut to get enough purchase to slowly work it back inI had the same issue and this worked, thanks. There is likely to be something stuck between the inner drum and the outer casing. In my experience this is most commonly the wire from an underwired bra! (belonging to my wife!)
If the inner drum has holes in it feel the surface carefully all over to try to detect a wire or other object protruding into the drum. If you find something it can often be pulled free with a pair of pliers or pincers.
There is probably something stuck in the drom or the drum seal. I would check for the underwire from a bra this is a commmon problem the wire comes out and gets stuck in holes in the drum.
You can try using a very high strength magnet to bring the clip up to a hole in the tub so that you can then use a pair of fine long nose pliers to grasp it and reef the little blighter out! Patience Does It !
you may not have to take the washer apart, take a good ligtht and look around inside the spin tub, if a part of the underwire is sticking thru, try and pull it out. Do not use the washer until the wire is removed or it actually could cut the tub and then the machine will leak $$$
Let me know the make and model if you need more assistance
when you do this the waranty will be voided.
it is not too hard to remove but it is time consuming. Did this many times before but you have to be patient and methodical.
not what you take of and you will have to split the outer drum.
Dont know what model you have. Search the net for a repair manual for your model machine. Some are downloadable. Then remove the tub to get to the bra wire.

you will have to open the bottom of the unit there is a pump clean out and a hose to the tub you maybe able to get it from there REMOVING the tub is not an option at this point
Bra underwires are one of the main engines of the appliance repair buisness.
You do need to keep a close eye out for it in the filter but it probably will do no good to call for repair. The repairman most likely will check the filter and tell you to call back if you have any trouble. Until it works it's way down there isn't much you can do without disassembling the washer.(no small feat for some of them) The only real damage that may occur is if it pokes a hole in the drain hose between the tub and pump. This has happened, but rarely. They will usually make their way to the pump and you will hear the noise, at which time you can usually remove it with no trouble.
Be sure to wash bras in a delicates bag on delicate cycle in the future.
Hope this helps.
Thanks/Mike
Switch off machine and unplug it from the wall socket. Remove back plate and identify the heating element. It should be located at the bottom of the outer drum. Remove element and you will have limited access to the space between the drums. Rotate the drum slowly by hand untill the bra wire gets to the bottom of the drum. Remove obstruction with hook or long tweeser.
