Sounds like the thermostat. Get it checked. If it is, just replace it. It's cheap and easy. Just don't put it off or you risk blowing the radiator. That's not cheap and easy.
Could be several things a short cycling thermostat not allowing heating element to stay on for the correct amount of time,or a restriction in the exhaust vent system. The second issue is easy to check, start unit go to outside to the dryer exhaust vent it should have plenty of warn air exiting vent. if not you will have to clean entire system out not just the hose behind unit... Hope this helps
Hello RR Hard start can't hurt BUT dosen't sound like the problem.Do you have a scroll compressor? They don't need a kit.Does it start every time?It could be short cycling on LOW PRESSURE SWITCH.If the unit is (pumping down) during the run time you have a restriction in the system.Make sure the service valves are open ,do you have a filter dryer colgging up or a bad TXV valve also could cause short run times.20-30 PSI the switch cuts out.
you have done a lot . try running the dryer off the vent . when the burner is short cycling it a air flow problem . if off the vent does not solve problem ck the fan for a bad center . very common problem . and clean vent . ck outside for air flow and condition of vent hood .. hop this helps ..
usually when the fan stays on is for a certain amount of time to allow cooling off the engine but if it goes on and not going off there has to be some kind of a short or another wire allowing that to happen without shutting off
There are a couple of reasons for ice-up. Let's check them:
First, clean any coils in the back or underneath completely.
Defrost the unit thoroughly. This could take a while and may lead to a quart/liter of water coming out. Usually this takes a day or so but can be sped up with a hair dryer or other heat source...electricity and water DON'T mix!
Make sure all circulation vents in the box are unblocked.
Start the unit. Watch the larger of the two pipes coming to the compressor...that big black thing under the fridge. It should frost up and then either dry out or stay wet after a half hour or so. If the frost stays on while the compressor is running, you are short on refrigerant gas...you'll need to get additional gas added.
Note: minimize the amount of uncovered liquids, the amount of time the door stays open and clean off dirt on door gaskets (be sure they fit properly by sliding a sheet of paper between the gasket and the frame of the fridge...it should move with some snubbing.
